East Texas is worried? Whats the worry, they have Ole Bo Pilgrim who will work his magic and solve all their problems, like he solved the growers problems. I am sure Bo is committed to his employee/partners like he is commmitted to his grower/partners!!!!

The article states laid off employees will be offered severance benefits. I hope they receive more than the Clinton, Ar. employees got. One of the Pilgrim's management team sent to our plant for the "idling" announcement made this statement in a closed meeting "The only severance package Clinton employees will get is their unemployment check!" Very sad since quite a few employees had 10+ years with the plant. Even sadder is we came out smelling like a rose compared to how the growers were treated.

I Would agree with you I guess at least maby they will get their severence pay, unlike those of us growers that were offered buyout agreements. Good ole Bo still owes me 54,000 on mine,I hope he remembers that and sleeps real good at night. Dont worry Bo will will have to meet his maker someday.I hope he is not to surprised when he finds out where he is headed.Good luck to the people of east texas.

You better hurry. One of the stipulations of the "end of bankruptcy" agreement is that nobady can sue them.

I believe it is Jim Thompson from Alabama. Not sure what law firm he's with.

I'm pretty sure that is only for satisfied and settled claims.

Rumors flying around Douglas/Coffee Ga. that PP will reopen plant. Anyone hearing this? Would think Live Oak is safe and increasing production. Douglas plant is prime location for exports. Appreciate info.

Seems that JBS is production / efficiency oriented. They'll be trimming the fat and expect us to do our jobs but it looks like most of us lower-level production folks will be ok.

Thanks, trying. Lots of hurting folks in our community. Wayne Farms closed their plant shortly after PP closed. Unemployment extremely high. Seems like Coffee/Douglas has had nothing but bad news for last few months. A young lady,Courtney Hayes, a student at Lynn University is missing in Haiti. She is from Douglas and her parents live in Douglas. They have made it to Dominican Republic but not into Haiti. We are all praying for a miracle. Time is not on their side. All prayers appreciated. Thanks.
