The closing of any of our Catholic parishes in the Camden Diocese will only lead further to the destruction of Christianity in America and around the world!

Salem County is in the Camden Diocese. Salem County has been hit the hardest in regards to these changes and closure. There aren't many Catholic churches or schools to begin with. We are the first Catholic parishes in the Diocese. Not only is St. Mary's in Salem, NJ is a NJ historical treasure but so is St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Woodstown, NJ. St. Joseph's in Woodstown has the oldest parish area with the first recorded baptism on October 3, 1743 in Alloway, NJ. There are rare and beautiful stained glass windows that even the Woodstown-Pilesgrove Historical Society acknowledges in the Candlelight Tour Holiday brochure which is also funded by grants fromm the state of New Jersey. The stained glass windows have Native America Tekakwitha and Our Lady of Knock and others.

St. Joseph's in Woodstown, NJ should remain open along with many other parishes in Camden Diocese.

Many priests and sisters have come from Salem County....Father Harte of camden catholic high grew up in Woodstown and went to st.Joseph's in Woodstown, NJ fathers Marucci...they went to St. James High School which is gone forever...

Then those who were from Salem County and now are in heaven: Sister Mary Leo Byrnes taught at Holy Spirit High in Absecon was from St. Joseph's in Woodstown, NJ. Father Bernie O'Connor of PA.

Father John Byrnes who was last stationed in Merchantville was born and raised on farm in Woodstown, NJ and went to Mass at St. Joseph's in Woodstown, NJ..

Father Byrnes when he learned of the closings said that it would be silly to close St.Joseph's in Woodstown, NJ when they just built a new parish center.

If Father stephen Cervoni ,who is buried behind st. joseph's was still alive he would back his people and protect St. Joseph's in Woodstown,NJ

St. Joseph's in Woodstown should not close.

May God bless Father Jerome Romanowski of st marys in malaga and sister mary of wildwood crest for their brave support and prayers
