If I were to kill myself anyway, I would have drag my tormentors along with me.
What a waste of a good life.

Take2Nexit: This kid did not jump off a bridge because he was gay. he jumped because he was ashamed of being gay for whatever reason. Don't blame others. It is not my job to accept you so you don't kill yourself.

This is horrible. I understand this completely, the fear of your social world finding out that your gay, or at the time I said, bi-sexual. I think if I did not have an aunt before me come-out, I might have moved away from my home area or maybe worst? This story made me feel awful once I heard about it. Not sure of what can be done, maybe more mentors or role-models, but that's not easy in our society, with gay-marriage and similar issues we are having trouble us also these days.

I don't think it was because he was outed. I think it was because of the WAY he was outed.

I hope the perpatrators of this are convicted and are sentenced to the max.

I think 70 or 80 years would be fair.

I hope those 2 students, one east indian and one asian girl will be expelled immediately from Rutgers. Charge them for harrassment, put them in jail for 30 yrs and the parent of the suicide student should sue them for 10 M $. Make those two students pay for their actions for life!

WTF is going on? If the acceptance of gays and lesbians is growing then why are more gay youth killing themselves than ever before? It's amazing it's the Christian organizations that don't want to stop this.

Somehow I don't think the 2 criminals who did this are Christians. I don't know but it's a guess.

Aren't these supposed to be the "best" and the "brightest" America has to offer. At least that's what they tell us when Ivy Leaguers are appointed to majority of the top Govt. positions.

The reason given typically is that they are suppose to be free from the backwardness of middle America. Oh they're not from America.

Get me the Department of brainwashing I umm mean diversity umm umm special needs um umm admissions?

Who cares?
He was an adult.
Suicide is a crime, hold the people that told him he's gay accountable. Hold his gay sex partner accountable as an accessory to the suicide.
Christians don't have anything to do with it, gays do.

"They are not from America?" Except for the Native Indians, who really is "from America?" I don't give a damn that you were born here. That was made possible only because someone in your family tree made the crossing. I myself am doubly mad at those two, because I called Ridgewood, New Jersey home for thirteen years. But if you want to use this to spread cheap racism, others will fight your redneck mindset.

From what I read in the New York Post, this man was out to his family and everyone else. So it's a bit puzzling why he did this. Perhaps he was recorded in an embarassing situation, if you get my drift.

I totally agree. If only this poor boy had taken the cold hearted, sub human Trash with him when he couldn't take their abuse anymore.

This is just disgraceful. My heart breaks for Tyler's family and friends. I am certainly not gay; I would never torment or harass someone that is. I think the two people that decided that this would be OK or cool to share with the rest of the entire world realize what they have done. Shame on you.

The cold hearted Trash who tormented this Boy are lucky that I wasn't his Father. I'd soon be doing hard time for sure by now.

These 2 may not be "christian" but we as a society are presumed to be. Until we have strong anti bully law WITH strong penalties for violation these senseless deaths will continue. How many advantages to civilization have we already lost due to these deaths?

I agree that we need strong anti-bullying laws, and this death is a tragedy.

It's the fundamentalist Christians in this country who are the greatest fomenters of bigotry against gays. Now that does not in the least bit excuse Dharun and Molly. But your comment is as ridiculous as saying: "Somehow I don't think the two who lynched this black man belong to the KKK."

That's exactly what I said when Jerry Falwell died. He perverted Christianity from Jesus' love into his own bigotry. Persons like him and Pat Robertson may call themselves Christians, but are more like cristofascists or Christian Taliban.

To those who use Dharun's and Molly's inexcusable behavior to spread anti-immigrant or anti-Asian hate:

I could spew the same against Americans of Italian origin. Clementi is an Italian name, but you don't see me being hard-hearted, using my own bitter experiences as an excuse. My heart goes out to the Clementi family, especially because Ridgewood was once my home.

I have nothing against anyone individually. Yet contrary to the urban legend that the WASP is the most biased white, I have generally found Italian-Americans to be the biggest Archie Bunkers outside the South. Most hate crimes by whites tend to occur in areas like Howard Beach or Bensonhurst, which are heavily Italian and often blue-collar. Venturing into a heavily Italian neighborhood gives me the same fear white people get about going into a black ghetto.
