get real. the place is not called 'slightly toasted' because of how someone likes their bread tanned. it is across from a high school and the innuendo is a marketing ploy with a hint of 'humor'.

Can anyone explain the signboard outside the pizza shop across from Mayfield HS? Any parent in town want to tackle this slight to Nancy Reagan's Just Say No legacy? Or are we so close to the border that no one cares?

The food sounds fine, the article is labored and reaching as if the author wants to inject every newly learned culinary definition he researched into his alloted word count.

I really think these reviews would be more fun to read if random citizens around the community submitted them for selection by the editor, earning all submissions entry into a monthly drawing for a gift card to a local restaurant.

Taking this just an eensy bit to serious, aren't you? It's a sandwich shop...jeez.
I wish the SN had a regular restaurant person who actually knew something about food and restaurants instead of farming the reviews out to whomever. But it is what it is.
The idea of random citizens a little scary. Walk thru a Walmart and look at "random citizens" and tell me you want to take their advice on where to go out for dinner. ;)

Hey Dawg! Long Time no see! I thought with the new posting system you might have stoppe dposting altogether. I have to agree, I want food advice from someone who actually knows something about food. Have you been to this place?

I've been going to this cafe since it open, I'm a marketing director for a local company, I applaud the attitude and the excellent food served at this place. They are always friendly and fast, as a professional I really appreciate it. My hats off to young men in this town, that are trying to make it instead of just complaining and being lazy. The name creative and imaginative, we need more places like this here in Cruces.

No more so than it is for you to have command of a keyboard with a spacebar and inserting spaces where they don't belong. Since I drive a 9500 pound BEAST of a truck, you should be afraid. BE VERY AFRAID! Excuse the hell out of me for asking a friendly question. Think I'll go have some Slightly Toasted now.

I recommend the Corner Bakery over in Sunland Park, El Paso. But leave your hemi-tude here if you venture out. I-10 is dangerous enough without guys who wear hats proclaiming their "Big truck, little ----".

I've been to corner bakery a few times. Stay away from anything that is not a sandwich and you should be good. Especially things with their microwaved marinara sauce on them (it is disgusting.)

Slightly Toasted is delicious. I have been there often and have never had a complaint about the food. The only downside is their limited hours (they close very early.) I've tried many different things off their menu and they all have been fantastic. If you're curious then try it and judge for yourself.
