But here's the crux of the thing where I don't think we'll be able to meet eye to eye -. I don't believe a business offering insurance that covers contraception is having their religious rights taken away any more than a business that pays a salary to someone who chooses to use that money to do something against the employer's religious beliefs. Whether it's salary or insurance, it's up to the employee how they choose to use it.
If an employee goes out and buys bullets or bomb makings with his pay and kills people, fair to say this was unforeseen. Or if they choose to go out and get an abortion, give money to Satan worship etc.

How if the employer hears about this, they would have to find legal way to deal with it just lie about why they're firing the employee.

OTOH if an employer goes out onto the open market to buy health insurance, there are several plans with different options they can choose from to buy. And this where their own values come into play. IMHO

What kills me is that this really is just a farce to whittle away at the ACA. Prior to the ACA, multiple Catholic organizations were offering insurance that covered contraception, and no one ever made a big deal about it.
Bill Maher might attribute this to the nature of our president, or as he calls him "President Blackenstein" mocking the right.

Seemed like a lot of things were ok under Bush that suddenly became Socialist or Kenyan.

Like running up the debt. And so on.

Funny how Bush doubled the debt but the tea baggers didn't show up till we had a black president of unknown origin!

Here's another scenario (in the case where a company is not self-insured):
What if the insurance provided by the employer wasn't required to provide contraception, relieving the employer of the "burden", but the employee were allowed to work directly and privately with the insurance company to purchase a "rider" that would cover it. Would that be violating the employer's religious freedom? And what if the insurance company granted the rider, but decided to absorb the cost themselves without charging the employee or employer? Does that change anything from the perspective of the employer's religious freedom?
I would think so because in that case the employer at least isn't paying for it.

I would hope they wouldn't have a problem with this arrangement.

I assume the tax payers would be compensating the insurance co?

Excellent video.

He is spot on. Certain people here justify their views as "biblical" but then when pressed, hide behind external rationalizations that are not supported by science or common sense. It would be nice to get them to admit the sole basis for their beliefs. However, we all know that alone would never lead to them changing their views, but it might bring some honesty into the discussion.

This was, in essence, the compromise offered by the WhiteHouse and rejected by the religious right. At this point, their agenda is very clear to me - complete control over their employees' reproductive health practices.

SERIOUS LIMITATIONS OF SCIENCE

Science is NOT an authority on most things except, in an inferential manner, on surface phenomena of nature related to wave/particulate properties of energy. Science is clueless about consciousness, morality, subjectivity, origin of sentience, behavior of sentient entities, origin of the universe, mechanism underlying the fine tuning of universe, choice, motive, judgement, protective-instinct, discrimination, urge, suffering, pleasure, aspiration, fears, intentionality, emotions and a range of other important features of existence. In these matters, we should not rely on the mumbo jumbo notions of an ignorant science. Listen not to stupid scientists in these all-important matter.

EMPLOYERS' FREE WILL VERSUS SCIENTIFIC IGNORANCE

EMPLOYERS have a right to prescribe broad rules on sexual mores, procreative choices and morals to employees in private enterprises if any/all of these factors lower productivity or dilute the focus, motivation and morale of workers or tarnishes the reputation of the business firm.

A business firm, for example, may not wish to associate itself with anti-life lobbies that promote abortion, euthanasia, war and capital punishment if the owners have strong pro-life views and wish the public image of the business enterprise they run to reflect the same.
In this regard, science, with its warped and erroneous views on everything to do with lifestyle, sentience, choice, sensitivity, conscience, morals, reputation, judgement, ethics, and intentionality cannot pronounce judgement on the business firm's policy and so the firm is free to pursue its peculiar pro-life policies and may employ only those personnel who share the same philosophy of life.

When an evil scientist like Richard Dawkins supports pedophilia over religious indoctrination or if a senseless brute like Lawrence Krauss advocates sex between siblings, slap them hard on their faces since these ignorant sub-human types are completely in the dark about the adverse impacts that these truly perverse acts have on mental states, emotions and societal behavior.

Entertain the scientists only when it comes to topics like weather, physical facts of matter, medicines and technology, but ignore them in matters of conscience, consciousness, morality, origin of universe, origin of sentience, human teleology, social behavior, emotions, upbringing, subjective feelings, discipline and discrimination in human affairs. In these serious matters, the scientists are clueless and usually pronounce the most ignorant ideas.

UNIQUE YOGIC EXPERIENCE

The yogic experience is still continuing in me in quite a big way due to the dynamic descent of the force of the higher consciousness. I can barely sit here typing....I need to assimilate the infusion of the higher consciousness-force. At times, I can't bear the immense pressures created by the descent of the higher consciousness-force into my nervous system from the planes that lie above the head.

n the whole, it's a marvelous yogic experience with unique manifestations in the body...

I've not eaten anything today on account of the intensity of the yogic experience.

Anyway, the energy input by the incoming force has replenished my system and I am not the least hungry.

Not surprisingly, the descent of the higher consciousness-force has opened up my body cells to a large extent to the cosmic forces around me and today morning for 4 hours a strong wave of energy from external nature invaded my body which as a result gave me a complete nonlocal consciousness accompanied by a feeling of superhuman physical strength.

Later. Going to lie down.

Sure. THEIR freedom and liberty, NOT their employees. Like it or not, we are living in a corporatocracy.

"Corporations are people too, my friend" - Mitt Romney

“A handful of billionaires own a significant part of the wealth of America and have enormous control over our economy. What the Supreme Court did in Citizens United is to say to these same billionaires:“You own and control the economy, you own Wall Street, you own the coal companies, you own the oil companies. Now, for a very small percentage of your wealth, we’re going to give you the opportunity to own the United States government.” That is the essence of what Citizens United is all about – and that’s why it must be overturned.”- Sen. Bernie Sanders, at a Senate hearing on July 24.

"Leading Sefardi Haredi Rabbi Tells University Students It Is KOSHER To Cheat And Plagiarize

Rabbi Avraham Yosef with name hands 2Chief Rabbi of Holon Rabbi Avraham Yosef – who sits on the Israel Chief Rabbinate’s council and who is a son of the late Sefardi haredi leader Rabbi Ovadia Yosef – gave permission for university students to cheat and plagiarize.

Chief Rabbi of Holon Rabbi Avraham Yosef – who sits on the Israel Chief Rabbinate’s council and who is a son of the late Sefardi haredi leader Rabbi Ovadia Yosef – gave permission for university students to cheat and plagiarize, the Jerusalem Post reported.

In an online halakha (Jewish law) ask the rabbi forum on the Moreshet Orthodox web portal, a woman posed the following question.

“My friend needs to submit university work, she took the work from someone else and asked me to change the wording so that the work will not look like the same. Is it permissible for me to help my friend to re-word the work?,” a woman asked.

Yosef said it is permissible to plagiarize and cheat....."

As you all know it is a massive surprise to me that a rabbi would teach that "It Is KOSHER To CHEAT And Plagiarize". Having said that, I have had personal experiences with their disciples on this Forum and it is clear to me that the disciples are a reflection of their masters.

That decision was a disaster. It's all about the money.

Another disaster is the gerrymandering of congressional districts.

Obama would now supposedly lose with the re-districting that's taken place.

CRASS MATERIALISTS ARE WRONG HERE TOO

Family, school, marriage and workplace serve as moulding influences in our lives. The atheists/crass materialists think that everything is an automaton and should run on mechanical laws.

Atheists/crass materialists are wrong in this instance as they are in most other cases as well.

Personality, aspirations and values are shaped in family, school, marriage and workplace.

Science cannot give us personality, discrimination in human affairs or a value system.

The strong, wise and inspiring personalities of parents, teachers, spouse and owners can rub off on us in positive ways and make us responsible, mature and well adjusted individuals with lofty values and deep insights into the workings of human nature.

So, parents, teachers, spouse and owners of business firms can teach us a lot provided they serve as benevolent but firm guides who guide as well as listen to genuine grievances.

Such inspiring individuals have every right to lay down strict rules within reasonable limits at home, school, marriage and workplace.

ATHEISM cannot explain fine tuning of the universal constants, fine tuning of life-supporting conditions on earth, fine tuning of atoms, fine tuning of chemical laws, fine tuning of biology, origin of universe, origin of sentience, sentience, morals, ethics, behavior, human relationships, human aspirations, karma, death and many other finer aspects of existence.

ATHEISM/CRASS MATERIALISM can be expected to die out within a few decades as education, morality, curiosity and awareness among the world's population spreads and people begin seeing through the lies, false explanations, suppression of truths and great inadequacies of atheism/crass materialism.
