A nation that functions on the basis of pluralism, secularism, justice, mercy, transparency, thrift, hard-work and accountability and that rewards intelligence, compassion, honesty, multiculturalism, eco-sensitivity, cleanliness, efficiency and loyalty should go far, very far, indeed.

Geometric symbols, swoosh, circle, dots, leminiscate, flowers, animals, birds, greenery, mountains, etc, can be retained, while religious symbols should be banned from being installed in public spaces.

A nice way to inspire the citizens of a nation would be to instal huge statues of great men and women like scientists, philosophers, statesmen, artists, writers, athletes and freedom fighters in public spaces with a short summary highlighting the superlative achievements of the person concerned. Replicas of modern machinery, labs, communication equipment, geometric symbols, parts of human anatomy and floral and faunal forms, sound ecological practices among other useful things could also be installed in key public locations as a means of educating people so that they meaningfully become an integral part of a knowledge-based society .

Religion is a distasteful relic of a barbaric past when mentally ill men went around persecuting/killing non-conformists, practicing human/animal sacrifices, advocating narrow tribalism and preaching mumbo jumbo.

Science, technology, universal ethics, world communication, world government, ecological sensitivity, vegetarianism, unification, multiculturalism, secularism, high efficiency, incisive intelligence, non-violence, refined aesthetics, investigations into mind-matter and meditation to harness the powers of the mind are the hallowed paths leading to the greatest possible heights attainable via the enlightened human consciousness.

CHRISTMAS, WINTERVAL OR HOLIDAYS?

Every festival whether it be Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, pagan or any other should officially be called by a common term "festival" or simply "holiday(s)".
There is no need to do this, if the religions in question dont confuse the issue by assuming that others follow them. You make that assumption, thus you are advancing a straw argument

In Judaism, we have internal distinctions between holidays and festivals, and we also have remembrances. Our calendar is more complex than worth sharing with you, nor does it need to be shared on that level with the outside world UNLESS there is mutual interest.

rabbee: nope i am sorry, those are pagan religious symbols. and even the architecture of almost all the buildings are of pagan design. all you have is an area with nothing, not even any secular or sectarian people allowed.

rabbee: you just can't band all sectarian religious symbols, and keep secular pagan religious symbols. to favor your religion, of the pagan secular devils. that's still, religious hypocrisy. i do not care about the devil, protecting you with making you religiously sick. you put yourself in that, pickle barrel religiously. so that any attempts to leave, will result in sever illness's.

No one gives a shit what festivals or holidays the observant Jews celebrate.

Only don't expect the government to name the festivals/holidays that you celebrate.

As I said earlier, any religious festival that is a public holiday in a nation should simply be designated "holiday(s)" by the government.

A truly secular government does not go around making announcements about a particular festival that is anyway all mumbo jumbo.

Religious festivals that're public holidays should simply be termed holiday(s) and clerics and law teachers of the religion should not be patronized by government officials.

Circles, triangles, squares, swooshes, floral/faunal forms, dots, lines, etc, are nature-symbols and are the best symbols that express universal phenomena unlike those nonsensical religious symbols/objects like menorahs, crosses, stars, etc.

In this evolutionary sense, only the Vedanta can truly be called evolutionary since it's always pushing its insights to greater heights by overthrowing all the older teachings and by dismantling the very objects of past veneration. This evolutionary trend should be encouraged since the first word is never the last word - so much more needs to be charted out, comprehended and manifested.

ELEMENTS OF A UNIVERSAL RELIGION:

I am against religion but just as an intellectual exercise let me attempt to define a universal religion that picks the best elements from various world religions.

A universal religion should be composed of different broad aspects so as to appeal to people of various temperaments.

What would this new universal religion be like?

It would have a Vedantic brain + an Islamic body + Buddhist compassion + Jain non-violence.

Why?

Read my next post.

BASIS OF THE UNIVERSAL RELIGION:

This new universal religion would necessarily have a Vedantic brain since there's not a single religion on earth that can match the mystico-rational expositions of the Vedanta; it must also possess an Islamic body since in the area of fraternity no religion confers such equality on its adherents as Islam - one Muslim may be a billionaire and another Muslim a servant but all socio-economic distinctions end in the mosque where the servant is treated on par with the billionaire during the prayer time with both standing side by side and besides the tenacity with which Muslims cling to their faith is another factor that would add to the universal faith that I have in mind. Further, the universal religion would essentially have to have Buddhist compassion that's rare and lofty and worth propagating and lastly it would include Jain non-violence what with the Jain faith consistently preaching against non-violence and attainment to perfection via a non-violent temperament.
