Scientists have discovered how to take algae
and turn it into crude oil in minutes rather
than the millions of years that current
theories on oil production suggest.
The announcement was made in a recent
issue of Algal Research.
Genifuel Corp. is currently refining the
process for industrial use.
Could this mean the end of the “peak oil”
theory?

You are right, someone in India also turned "Water into Gasoline" in a minute.

Later it was found to be a Hoax!!

The same goes for your "scientists" !!

Get over it and look for Solar Energy as alternate source of energy (in fact "The" source of all energy)

rabbee: the last i heard, it was more like bio-fuel not actual crude oil. so in essence, vegetable oil. which can run, just great in diesel engines. it does not produce the five blends of benzine gasoline mostly, hexane, heptane, octane, nonane. it's more like, duo-decane.

Support For A&E Boycott Four Times Higher Than Obamacare
Enrollment

Facebook “likes” for boycott six times higher than “likes” for Obamacare
Kit Daniels
Infowars.com

The number of Facebook users supporting a boycott of television network A&E is currently four
times higher than the number of Americans who have successfully signed up for Obamacare.
More Americans signed up for an A&E boycott in 24 hours than
signed up for Obamacare in 3 months.#principlesoverpolitics

As of this writing, over 1.4 million people on various Facebook pages support a boycott of A&E
after the network suspended Duck Dynasty star Phil Robertson for expressing his views on
homosexuality in a recent interview with GQ .
Compare this to the official December Health Insurance Marketplace Enrollment Report, which
states that only 365,000 Americans have successfully signed up for an Obamacare insurance plan .
Support for Phil Robertson on Facebook is also six times higher than the “likes” for the official
Facebook page for Healthcare.gov .
This is a testament to the power of individuals and their spontaneous free-market solutions which
ultimately lead to prosperity as opposed to the economic ruin resulting from centralized planning.
Obamacare shares its centralized, socialist nature with the current chilling effect on free speech
pushed by the establishment, particularly in response to Robertson’s comments.
As we reported yesterday, establishment media pundits are not just disagreeing with Robertson,
but they are also trying to make an example of him in order to silence any future opposition to
their agenda .
Instead of being tolerant of his opposing viewpoint, the talking heads on TV are saying that
Robertson is engaging in “dangerous hate speech” which could potentially incite violence.
“He is not entitled to be on TV spouting hate,” said Democratic Party political pollster Bernard
Whitman on Fox News .
It would appear that Whitman and the others do not support the First Amendment, which is
hypocritical considering that they are engaging in free speech in order to respond to Robertson’s
comments.
Apparently these pundits would support Soviet-style censorship of anything that “offends” them.

Straw argument - These days no one is arguing against oil because it is nonrenewable. People are arguing against oil because of its emissions.

You have no idea what the First Amendment is all about.

"Congress shall make no law... abridging the freedom of speech...."

CONGRESS i.e., Government. Not private people. Not a private business. Not your employer. GOVERNMENT.

A&E made a business decision. It decided that it would be better for business to PO the conservatives than PO the Gay Community and its supporters. That's all it was. Free enterprise. Nothing to do with the First Amendment. I thought the conservatives supported free enterprise.

rabbee: and it does not matter what you burn, you still are going to have emissions. and how you prepare to burn it, determines the emissions. so it is almost a moot point, as to what you burn. i say almost, because if you are burning coal etc. as it, takes special handling. hydroelectric is probably, the most efficient and environmental friendly. but most dams in the usa, are not equipped with it nor the ability to be equipped with it. but was a matter of supply and demand, at the period of time the dams were built. they made no provisions, for future expansion.

Here is another example of a business making a personnel decision based upon stupid statements from an employee. The business was not violating free speech. The business was making a decision as to what was in the best interest of the company.

For a company who takes government privileges and at the same time has policies that are anti-free speech, is somewhat hypocritical.

What privileges? It's a cable company. No different than any other company in the country.

They are not subject to the First Amendment. They made a business decision. Free enterprise.

John Stewart's take on it

“I think what the guy said is ignorant,” said Stewart,“but I also have an inclination to support a world where saying ignorant sh*t on television doesn’t get you kicked off that medium.”

Stewart went on to talk about how Fox News was also, unsurprisingly, defending Robertson’s right to free speech – except that this defense was cloaked in hypocrisy, given the channel’s campaign to draw attention to a perceived “War on Christmas.”

He said:“Their [Fox News] belief in free speech doesn’t extend to the holidays, when the word ‘Christmas’ is mandatory.”

Fascinating. Thanks for posting this. Though I wouldnt call it a middle ground. Basically, what he did was expose Mr Duck Hunter as acting contrary to Christianity, and then noting where unfettered prejudice can lead to. Then after putting a plug about the war against the Left, he opines that Mr Duck probably should not been of been suspended, and combines that with a plea for all people to unite.

Except for the war against the left, I would have to agree with him.

But the greatest value of O'Reilly sermon was the Christian part in the beginning.

Overall, I thought Geraldo put it best...just broadcast the guy and add a disclaimer.

O'Reilly does have fits of coherence on occasion. This was one of them. Just dont ask him about falafel. http://nymag.com/news/features/scandals/bill-...

CHRISTMAS, WINTERVAL OR HOLIDAYS?

In an attempt to further secularize public life, there's an increasing move in the West to dub Christmas as "winterval" (winter festival) or simply by the generic term "holidays".

While every attempt at separation of the church from the state is welcome, no single festival should be singled out.

Every festival whether it be Jewish, Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, pagan or any other should officially be called by a common term "festival" or simply "holiday(s)".
