I pay school taxes and have no kids but it's for the common good.
Get in line with the rest of us.
"Thank you, sir, may I have another?!!"
Seriously though, our duly elected government at work.
I didn't like paying for W's wars but that's the way it is here in the US of A.
Get with the program.
You stated in the past that the only thing making the government legitimate is the fact that they will put you in a cage, so why do you even bother babbling about the common good?

Trends. Look at the trajectory in the article I posted. Its buffered with estimates of statistical certainty.(Dont you hate when life isnt black or white?)
You know, the article that you still refuse to read and therefore have an intelligent conversation about?
I am still waiting to conduct an intelligent conversation. Just throwing random sound bites gleaned from alternative media does not equal intelligent conversation.
It could trend the opposite way as well, doesn't mean anything.

Again, are you an American citizen? Do you consider yourself a "good American?"
Are you happy to be living here? Would you rather live somewhere else? Just curious. You sound disgruntled.(Like a postal employee...)
Do you not believe in elections? Democracy?
Belonging to any religion is voluntary as far as I know - agreed. Same with tithing. Not so with taxes. Agreed.
Same with having auto insurance if you drive. This is fair, moral, ethical in my opinion.
Ahh the political organization known as new Hampshire does not require insurance.

I am very happy here in my voluntary society, but as always there are those that want to be left alone and those that don't leave you alone.

When was the last time anyone voted on having a government or not?

In other words you didnt read the article, and/or lack the background to understand predictive statistics and their limitations.

Its ok - I didnt really expect anything more out of you

Same with the form of gov't we have.

I don't recall saying that. Perhaps your interpretation.

Our gov't is legitimate due to the way it was formed and the inherent checks and balances. We see it working everyday. It ain't always pretty but all in all it works.

And, despite what you say, you have no better ideas of how to do it.

Having said all of that, please tell me which of the categories below you would place the belief in a Supreme Being.

1. Journalism

2. Law

3.Medicine

4. Accounting

5. Languages

6. Maths

7. Religion.
Hey Hugh,

Everything originates from one reality, or in other words everything in existence is a graded manifestation of a single, self-existent, self-contained source.

The subjects listed by you above belong to the lower reaches of the mind and as such they're not to be taken seriously and should be used in a constructive manner for the little worth they have which means that each subject listed above has its little uses and serious limitations.

Don't expect to find truth in inferences, numbers, surmises and hazy physical facts. The truth is far vaster and profounder.

Those subjects that you've mentioned above are mere surface effects of deeper causes.

Math (my favorite subject), languages, medicine and the like have far more utility in the ordinary life than religion which in most cases is an exercise in perversity, irrationality, myopia, ignorance and fanaticism.

Remember, all truth is fact but all fact is not truth.

Above all, act with caution, very great caution, when dealing with the religious teachings that are either mumbo jumbo or unbridled fanaticism.

Choose wisely.

Question, do YOU believe in a Supreme force or being?
Haven't you been reading my posts on the subject?

The word "being" refers to a formation of subtle/gross grades of consciousness, energy, matter.

Each plane has numerous beings or formations that take shape under the guidance of the cosmic causal mechanism and are dissolved into the elementals by the same device. And, so, the word being implies an inferior status of existence.

What people of different faiths call God is one of these beings of the various cosmic planes of the lower kind.

The beings/formations of the higher planes are aloof and hate being worshipped.

All this is very inferior stuff.

All this is the mystical experience.

Now, getting down to hard logic:

The absolute state of existence or the ultimate reality is beyond all the evanescent formations and cosmic planes and is their very source.

Consciousness, energy and matter are evidently the only tangibles in the whole of existence and these form a unified field that is indestructible and which simply arranges its various forces-materials of consciousness, energy and matter in specific combinations that's then (via an innate causal mechanism fashioned out of the consciousness-energy-matter) responsible for manifesting the universe into form.

The unified field goes through cycles of manifestation, dissolution and re-manifestation.

So, each particle, everything in short, is an aspect of the unified field in manifestation.

Dont shoot the messenger. I didnt write the article

The funny thing is that I would think you would agree with it. It basically says while the IRS wastes time on a wild goose chase persecuting people who really have no significant assets, they purposely ignore the large rich Super Pacs which are the real problem in society.

I can only guess you didnt read the article. Do you have ADD by any chance?
