I don't agree with #4 being on the list.

By the same token, I am gratified for being overlooked.

Why is it that you appear unfamiliar with your native language/dialect, mon?

I know you avoid mingling with the hoi polloi at all costs, that you consider yourself better than your fellow man - but this lack of basic language skills is quite concering to "the many" on this forum.

We are prepared however to make any special accommodations that your disabilities may require.

You do realize that probably just last week he went out of the way to call me one the smarter posters here.
They call it mania for a reason.

Nope, I do that out of respect to a Higher Power. I am by no means agnostic. I fully believe in God, not like you may or others may.
I don't believe in god due to lack of evidence. I am an atheist.

I assumed you were agnostic based on your previous posts where you seemed to question the existence of god and/or his attributes, claiming it was unknowable. That is the text book definition of agnostic. Sorry if I misread your posts.

My belief is that we (humans) don't understand what God is. My thoughts are that we are completely misguided and spend a lot of time and effort trying to follow a path that we do not know to be the correct path. We spend too much time and effort trying to get to heaven, not really understanding what it is.
So, how do you know god exists? How do you know heaven exists? Why waste any time at all preoccupied with trying to get into a place that may not exist? Why not just live a good life and let the chips fall where they may?

I look at this as follows: 10 people are going to be given a test ... What is the test? That is the mystery.
- 1 studies mathematics
- 1 studies history
- 1 studies politics
- 1 fianance
- 1 ev olution
-...
- 1 studies nothing
Which is best prepared for the test?
The question is malformed and presents a false dichotomy.

Personally, I would refuse to take the test if the proctor of the exam is going to be a prick and not even tell me what's on it.

OTOH, I might still study one or more of the above topics in an effort to better educate myself, even if I don't intend to take any test.

What do you mean by "a Catholic mother who converted to Christianity". What she a non-Christian that converted to Catholicism? Or did you mean that she was Catholic and converted to some other branch of Christianity?

... I personally never took up any of it ... From a young age I had too many simple questions that the grown-ups at church could not answer ... 2nd grade I asked the Sunday school teacher in reading Genesis ... IDGAF "How many Gods were there?"...FAE "Child of course there was only One" ...IDGAF "How come Genisis states ... Let's make man in Our image"... FAE "The Father, The Son and The Holy Ghost"... I didn't quite buy that explanation and simply understood that she did not know ... She struggled ...
So, I went to Sunday school and all that good stuff, but somehow, I was never content with what people talked about ... Couldn't understand the blind faith ... I understand it now, people simply need something to believe in ... The thought of being born, living and dying couldn't have been without reason ...
Why can't your life have reason or purpose without a god? The only thing a god would provide is an externally determined purpose. You can still have an internally determined purpose(s) without a god. And why do we need childish stories of eternal reward or damnation to coerce us into being good. I certainly don't. Do you?

Or maybe a Jewish mother who converted to Catholicism so as to make her husbands family happy.

I actually thought long and hard about whether I wanted to respond at all (dont feed the troll rules) and then purposely decided on something that would deflect the conversation back to him.

I'd hardly call that an achievement.

Anyway, peace to you.

Stop being so narrow, unclassy and mean.

Let the conservation flow freely instead of deciding who one should converse with or not.

Everyone should be free to communicate with anyone of his choice.

Understand, please?

LOL.

I am really surprised at the low level of intelligence, meanness, parochialism, clannishness and bigotry on this august forum.

I would like Topix to suspend this thread but then I doubt if Topix will do this as we posters bring in ad money. LOL.

You're smarter than Hugh, MUQ and Frijoles but you're being influenced by the low standards of your pal Frijoles who is out to decide who talks to whom and on what basis.

I pity such pathetic individuals who're heading for destruction if they don't clean up their act fast.

Anyone should be free to talk with anyone and on the contrary we should communicate more with our detractors to clarify matters or to to debate a point down to its fine details.

I am all for free debate and have no favorites as such and am open to even conversing intensely and regularly with my detractors.

Shunning people, instigating others to shun certain posters and forming a narrow coterie to target others are the signs of uncouth and unintelligent people.

FRIJOLES should improve his pathetic behaviour and stop behaving like a typical demon-worshipping Jew that he is. I pity him. He has absolutely no class and is only slightly more intelligent than nuts like MUQ, Hugh, Alex and Gtown71. He'd better grow up, soon.
