And now you have a wounded mountain lion? Good luck with that.

Feeding javelina or putting out water for the animals can also draw them in as they prey on the pigs, too. We have at least 6 Cougar behind our area and as each has a 60-100-mile hunting area you must remain aware of things around you. I walk 3-4 miles a day, but since we have a cat frequenting the neighborhood I carry a gun (and license) most of the time. Also l don't walk at night. Years ago I was walking at night and heard what I believe was a cougar about 1/2 block away. It was unlike any domestic cat. I thought I was safe with my 130-pound Doberman, but I was advised by Fish and Game that the cat would simply kill the dog. After all, that is about the size of the deer they prey on. No more walking at night for me and I keep my dogs locked in at night as the cat has been in our backyard and those around me.
