Can anyone tell me what the service is like these days? In days gone by we ate at the Buckhorn on a weekly basis. After it opened after being closed over a year we dined there once and have not been back as it took almost 2 hours to get our food. As far as the music goes, in the past several years we enjoyed the ambience of the place and asked to be seated as far as possible from the music.

Nice fluff piece. The over priced food still is just mediocre. Music and ambiance are great.

It's nothing like it used to be. I'd rather cook my own PRIME steak.

same old crappy food with a NY price tag, plus hippy music is not that impressive, I wonder if they ever fixed the septic tank that was backing up that water in the sink with all the shirmps they were trying to defrost? Did they get rid of the roachs that were running around under my table? DId they ever get their workds docummented to work in the U.S? DId they ever clean up the stove where the bugs were scrambling to escape every time they turned on the oven? Oh what a grand place but I stick to the Red Barn
Yeah, they did. Ask to see the kitchen, they will gladly let you. Even with everything wrong, we all had great times there back in the day. I just think you are getting to old to remember the good times.

Red Barn? HA! Get a look at the kitchen staff there and then tell me you want them cooking your food. The Buckhorn (these days) is many magnitudes better...

100% correct Elkstine. Over priced food, but the bar seems popular. Service was quite good, but the menu prices will take your breath away. Seems like they are trying to cater to the upper class(?) living in the area. I looked all over the menu for a plain old cheeseburger but couldn't find one. They were all exotic, dolled-up burgers at crazy prices. Cheapest deal I found was for a grizzly, open-faced steak sammich. And THAT cost $15. I won't go there again. We STILL don't have a decent resteraunt in Silver City. Have to go to Deming or Las Cruces for that.
