It's interesting that so much is being done this weekend to remember those who have served in our military, while no one -- not either Silver City newspapers -- mentioned or remembered the end of world War II in Europe -- "my" war. No flags were flown, no mention made. I wonder if this will be the same when VJ Day comes around in August, when so many people in this suffered through Bataan, and so many native Americans performed from so well with their native language to confuse the enemy.
I guess it's easy to forget, if you weren't there
