So we are going to kill every Mountian Lion we see just because it killed a human? I think that is absurd! An animal kills a human and it is hunted down and shot! A human kills a human and we give him more rights than the one he killed! Where is the justice on this earth?

Tis is brilliant, eradicate the species because they live in the area. Then 20 years from now we'll repopulate like we're doing with the wolves.

I cannot understand why the mountain lions were shot, they were only doing what nature intended them to do. You can live with mountain lions and bears, just as long as you remember that they can be dangerous at times. With respect and common sense, there is no need to fear them.

The whole story isnt being told. These lions were being fed by some of the people in that area. Sooo guess what when the fear of humans is no longer this will happen and most likely would have kept happening if this wasnt done. There is plenty of lions in this state. Eradicating two of them isnt going to do anything.

I agree with bobwmac - mountain lions kill. Respect their territory and their purpose on this planet.

Okay, NM Game & Fish are a bunch of cowards. Is it really necessary to kill every Mountain Lion they find? So what if someone was feeding them. If your out in the wilderness alone, unprepaired, your the idi@t.

Please tell us how you know that the animals were being fed, or are you just trying to justify the killings? So the killing of two magnificent animals is "no big deal", sounds like you work for the Game & Fish dpt.

P.A. is not in the wilderness. it is close. 10 steps in the wrong direction and you are in the Gila forest. but this time of year P.A. does have quite a few tourests and people just out for a good hike. if the people in P.A. were feeding these cats then they are the ones responsible for the deaths of the cats and the man that was eaten. I think the true cowards are the ones that messed with nature and now wont stand up and take the true blame.

I don't agree with the killing of the cougars, however, I'm sure the game wardens know exactly what they are doing..

Game and Fish has said since the start of this incident that there were 2 cougars in the immediate area that they were targeting.
They are not killing every one they find.

Nope I do not work for G&F. Have some friends that live in the area. The cats were being fed so the people could get some pictures. Very stupid idea. The people that were feeding them are the ones to blame. Just like some of the people in the east mountains that feed the bears. They are at fault for the bears being put down. I am not trying to justify anything. Do I like hearing about these cats being killed no I dont but if they have zero fear of humans and become a danger then I say go for it.
