I will remember that when the next city elections come around. If they are not interested in change, lets find people who will.

Anybody but Kitchens - We need some fresh air at city hall, not the same old cigar smoke from the boys.

Kitchens is a nice guy, but you're right he is part of the good old boy system. It's time for a change.

Mr. Kitchens is the best of the best and he his not old cigar smoke. He has only been there a couple of years. When he was at the county he was the only finance director that has ever stood up for what he knew was right. Sounds like you all don't know him very well and your the one blowing smoke.

I agree that we need someone from the outside in this position, a fresh face, not someone coming from the "internal corruption" just so they can continue the corruption. We need CHANGE in this county!!!!

We need someone who represents the City well. We certainly do not have that in our Mayor or Kitchens. Once upon a time we had a better reputation and more industry than places like Erwin and Mountain City, not so any more.

Was not Mr. Kitchens' late father in law, Bob Banks, the city attorney in Betsy years ago? Sounds a bit like nepotism, don't you think?

He is also the grandson of J.W. Street who was road superintendent for many years, so what. He is in this position due to his outstanding abilities and nothing more. If you knew him you would know there is nothing bad to say about him or his standards.

I personally believe he is a good person, there is no need for character assassination, I just don't think he is right for the job. We need change!

If they put this guy in it will continue to be the same old same old. Look at your department heads now especially the Police and Fire. Matt Bailey crying I'm leaving if I don't get my way and then getting canned basically. That was a calculated move so as not to get fired when a new City Manager comes in. Then you have that pathetic, backward, excuse for a Fire Chief. He is nothing more than a Mike Shouse clone he is so paranoid he won't promote his department, send them to specialized schools, or anything else the rest of the world is doing. Good grief!
