she did attend, believe me it was all a joke!!! Good luck to ya if you think you can do anything. Also watch about threating her or doing anything, remember she is protected by a union and also all educational workers including bus drivers are protected with stiffer penalties.
Was it your kid that got in trouble last year for smiling on the bus?

I don't think it is right that the old bus drivers is calling the parents trying to get the new busdriver kick off so she can the run back. if she wanted it she shouldn't have trade the runs

Can't they position the bus cam so that it cannot be turned off? or.. program something so that if it IS turned off, they will know, and have some kind of penalty (like being fired!) there should be NO legitimate reason to touch the camera! if it is touched.. the penalty being ..being fired? Surely there is a way to get to the real bottom of this!?

What are you talking about? I called the old bus driver and told her how much we missed her. She does not want this run back. Not because she doesn't love the kids. She does. But she is saving hundreds of dollars a month on her new run, and she needs it with her current situation at home.

We are friends because she was so wonderful to my children and she would chat with the parents when she picked up or dropped off our kids. Also if my kids had any problems whatsoever on the bus, I could call her and she would talk to me about it. I even gave her my home number, work number and cell number to call me anytime she needed to about my kids. This is how it should be.

just a thought not a bash, i'm real close to 25 and have probably driven more miles in my 8 years of driving than you in your life......that is unless you drive for a living, also, i've never had an accident that wasnt on ICE......couple of speeding tickets when i was younger tho

but i second the fact that most are not as experienced as myself and i would rather have an older more responsible person driving my kids......i wonder what type of personality exam they give the bus drivers? shouldnt they be tested on their ability to focus when there are distractions and things going on around them????

<quoted text>Yes,I am sure there can be difficulties. But if a driver makes a rule that children can't eat or drink on the bus,I feel the driver should follow the same rules.Yes there should be control but if a driver screams at all the children, those 25% of children who do behave thinks you are accussing them falsely.I think they should be able to talk quietly,I have heard the teachers yell at them at luchtime, taking snacks and playtime away. There seems to not be anytime for them to be social at school amymore.Consolidation is to blame for many problems.
I Ride that bus! and its not 90 kids its about 12, and we are not trouble makers!! we get on the bus, listen to our mp3 players, put our hoods on (those who have them) lay our heads either on the window, or the back of the seat. Well we did all of that last year, until Jennifer started driving us, now we have to sit up straight, cant listen to music, cant lay our heads down, or sleep, or eat and drink (even though she is sittin up front eatin her food, and drinkin a XL drink). So no tell me again how opinions will change? Oh and another thing, boys and girls cant sit with each other, we cant talk, and my friend got yelled at because she got into her purse!! So, tell me how shes a good driver, and I'll tell you BULLSHIT!!!

P.S. We are not makin this up, and you know this Jennifer!(if this isnt Jennifer, then she will be readin this, and i appologize to whomever this is - that is if its not Jennifer!!!

Well I've been driving 27 years, love it and love the kids, but never had to take the personality exam, haha. But I can't think of ANY TEST that could compare to the distractions of 90 living breathing students on the bus. Yes this is what we have chosen to do and if we can't handle it then we need to get out. It's tough knowing the responsibility you have behind you and what this means, so I just don't see how any exam could compare. Wyoming County busdrivers do an excellent job I think.

No bashing taken but I have been driving longer than you have been a live, had a job for several years driving about 700+miles a week, ice, snow, what have you, never had an accident either.Yes it would be nice for them to come up with a way to test them on their ability to focus on distractions and things going on around them.I know it might not be the greatest job around but people who have qualifications and gets along well with children, should only apply for school bus drivers. My opinion.Experience is a must.

Take it to the board people. Don't wait until children are killed. I also think it is discrimination to not allow the kids to have any food or drinks on the bus and then the driver sits there and eats and drinks in front of them. No one should eat and drink on the bus. I think the main problem is these people don't know when to retire. The one who killed that child in Oceana was in her 60's.
We are having the same problem for 3 years here in colo. however my son and another boy got in trouble yesterday so I watched the tape today with the principal and nothing happened the kids were to scared to move.

we are having the same problem here in colorado with the bus driver harrassing the kids. However I did go visit our bus barn , the superindendant and the principal showed me the video and the kids did nothing wrong the bus driver is lying and now I am thinking about getting an attorney. Disciplinary after disciplinary is all the bus driver gets and the kids are scared to death.
