I do. She flies- drives that bus way too fast. She's changed the stopping schedule so my boy is on the bus even LONGER, and she won't let the kids get ANYTHING out of their backpacks, not even a schoolbook, so it's long AND boring. She's making him miserable. I miss Patty- she was the best bus driver he's ever had. She traded runs with this new woman, and is on Turkey Creek now, I think.

If you do some investigating, you will find that this is the same driver that had so many problems last year. Sounds to me like they need to get rid of this driver. I personally witnessed her yelling at the kids (for a very stupid reason) on the very first day of school. Most of these kids are afraid to move on that bus. It sounds to me like she is trying to run a boot camp not a bus run....

BTW, before you ask, my kids don't ride that bus. What I witnessed was in the parking lot of the school.....

Take it to the board people. Don't wait until children are killed. I also think it is discrimination to not allow the kids to have any food or drinks on the bus and then the driver sits there and eats and drinks in front of them. No one should eat and drink on the bus. I think the main problem is these people don't know when to retire. The one who killed that child in Oceana was in her 60's.

It is my understanding, that a bunch of parents DID take her to the board last year and nothing was done about it except for putting a camera on the bus. How stupid is that? All she had to do was reach up and turn it off anytime that she wanted to. Personally, I think that this was the reasoning for switching the drivers. The board stands for the drivers and,in my opinion, doesn't give a crap about those kids. A friend of mine was one of the parents that went to the board on her, and they made her and her kids feel like they were stupid and making stuff up! What is the use in going to the board when obiviously nothing will be done about it?!?!

Think in numbers! The more parents you get involved the better your chances of convincing the board that there is a problem. One or two parents can be seen as "trouble makers" but get as many as you can to stand together with one spokesperson and they will listen. Don't take what happened last year as being carved in stone. After all if actions last year got her switched to another bus run maybe actions this year can have her terminated. Don't wait to long into the year to organize with other parents and bring this to the boards attention. Good luck!

The sooner the better because you have to schedule to speak at the board meetings.Get a petition, choose a good spokesperson, meet and compare notes on things going on that needs changed.Don't back down,if the board don't want to listen and change things ask to whom you need to go to ,state or whoever to get things under control.I think they need to consider that these bus drivers are carrying our most precious cargo.Hiring the best, caring drivers with the best driving, drugfree records to transport our children;then I think more children would be riding buses.

First of all it is very unfair to bring up that incident again. The bus driver was in no way guilty of anything there it was a total accident. You make it sound like she killed this child on purpose. Shame on you.

Second 60 isn't old, to you whipper snappers(read young here) it is but to us experienced people it isn't.

True ,I feel that no one would want an awful accident to happen.I wouldn't even want to think how this person felt.It was a tragic accident.I would rather have a 60 year old experienced driver than an 25 year old inexperienced driver, myself.

If a few parents would have to ride a bus for a week or two believe me some oppinions would change, if the driver doesn't get control the kids will go absolutely wild, you can't believe how loud ninety kids can be in a bus, I know, I drove one for two years. About twenty five persent of the kids are nice quite kids, the rest act like they have had no training from their parents on how to act in public or anywhere else. Its easy for the driver to tell which kids have parents who both work, they are the worst kids when it comes to disipline, talk to your kids, tell them to talk quitely on the bus, it might save them from being in an accident, the driver might be looking in the mirror telling them to be quite and hit that coal truck that just pulled out in front of the bus.

Yes,I am sure there can be difficulties. But if a driver makes a rule that children can't eat or drink on the bus,I feel the driver should follow the same rules.Yes there should be control but if a driver screams at all the children, those 25% of children who do behave thinks you are accussing them falsely.I think they should be able to talk quietly,I have heard the teachers yell at them at luchtime, taking snacks and playtime away. There seems to not be anytime for them to be social at school amymore.Consolidation is to blame for many problems.

My daughter has had a lot of trouble with this driver. Parents need to get together and go to a board meeting to talk about this. We need to stand together as a community and do whatever it takes to get this bully to stop doing what she's doing.

There is a board meeting scheduled for 09/08. All the parents who's kids have been harrassed or bullied by this bus driver, let me know and we will meet somewhere and request to go before the board.

There is no sense in our kids being tormented on the way to school every day. We need to stand up for our children and not sit and let this go on any longer!!!!

I would want an experience older driver transporting my children than a young driver in their 20's or even in their 30's.
Some of the problem could be from the kids on the bus. There's nothing wrong with a bus driver being strict to keep down distractions in order to keep her eyes on the road.

It all comes down to respect. The driver would respect the children I bet the children would respect the driver. There is always one bad driver that no one likes. That is true in every school district. You have to have actual proof not just what the children are saying. We had a bus driver like that until he was constantly taken to the board. They even knew that the other bus drivers did not like this driver. The final thing was the driver let a parent on the bus and threaten two children one being mine. I called the state police then I called the board office and it was not long that the driver finally retired like the driver should have years before that. Don't give up and get proof that can not be disputed.

I can see both sides to this. I personally want a driver that puts safety FIRST when my children are on the bus. When I was in school, I had a strict bus driver, and hated her. Now that I have children, I want that driver to drive my kids. Now there's a difference in strict and rude. I do know that this driver that you are referring to has little personality...which is not a job requirement to drive a bus, but helps with discipling the kids. There are ways to handle kids, I know because I work alot with teens and younger. They respect you more, when you speak to them with respect. If you feel your children are in danger, go to the board. If you just don't want little Johnny fussed at, then I think we need to teach our kids bus safety at home.

We took that bus driver with 10 other parents to the bus garage. That was a joke! He yelled at her, just to pasify the parents. Nothing was done to her. My child got wrote up for reading his Basketball magizine. She stares at the mirror the entire time she is driving and has to slam on her breaks for coming to close to cars in front of her. She is a danger to all children, and they wont do nothing because she is protected by a union. I also had a 3-way with a board member and the bus garage director and I was made out to be the most stupid person who's child does nothing wrong. I ended up driving my child to catch another bus because nothing was done. Good luck to your chilren who has to ride her bus. She calls the kids names my step neice was called a whore by her and nothing was done, was brushed off like nothing was said. Also a little boy who has to sit by a window because he has autisim she called "retarded" my child witnessed that nothing was done. So what can you do? Nothing.
