I am very sorry that you are unhappy with the photos.I have decided it is time to pose a question. Am I the only parent who didn't like their childs LL Photos? My sons was so bad I didn't even order them. Here in Pineville the LL Board voted to have a photographer from Oceana take them because he has cheap prices (and cheap work) and because of a little rain he took LL photos in the Gymnasium! It looks ridiculus! He should have rescheduled!!! And no I am not going to say his name that would not be necessary. But please answer my question "Did you like your childs LL photos and did you order any of them?" And if your going to answer please use your REAL first name so we dont get a bunch of BS comments posted by the same person under twenty different names! That would serve NO purpose whatsover, except to try to cover up poor work in the pictures by the person who took them. Let me know. Come on people STAND UP and have a set and say what you think! And if we get enough parents to stand up maybe we can make the LL board make him come back and RE-DO it for free!
The purpose of my reply though is to clear something up for you. The Pineville Little League Board DOES NOT select the photographer that takes the pictures. That is, like most things are, left up to each individual team. Usually, your mamager or your "team mom" selects the photographer after discussing the choice with the parents.
The Little League Board has NEVER in the last twelve years made teams use a particular photographer. Each team picks their own. So, while your criticism of the photographer may be valid, your criticism of the Board is off base, and I wanted to make that perfectly clear before misinformed people start complaining about the Little League Board over pictures.
The Little League Board assumes that the parents and coaches will get together and choose the photographer who they think is best.
Again, I am sorry for your experience with the photographer, but please do not blame the Little League because that choice is left up to each team. If you want to "stand up and make" someone do something about the photographer, you need to look to your own team's coaches, parents, team mom or whoever it was that chose your photographer.
That is not to say that the Little League Board does not care. If your coaches or whomever it was that chose the photographer won't help you, then maybe you should mention it to a Board member. The LL Board tries to stay out of individual team's business, but if the TEAM asks for help dealing with the photographer, I am sure the Board won't turn you down so long as the team has tried to deal with the problem themselves first.
Instead of posting a call to arms on Topix, your first step should probably be talking to your team manager about it. If that does not help, talk to a Board member, but don't act like it was the Board's fault because it wasn't. Just ask for help - you're not going to "make" the Board to do anything, but you are very likely to get help by just asking for it.
Again, the Board DOES NOT pick a photographer for team pictures. That choice is left up to each team. I promise you that. I have worked on the Board for twelve or thirteen years now, and we just don't meddle in the team's individual choices like that. Once or twice, a photographer has come to Opening Day and been available for the teams to use if they wanted to, but even then, the teams could pick their own and several did.
