Just got a call. They r coming out in phases til Thursday. My LO said they have taken everyone's belongings except what will fit in one bag. That is bullshit. Normally They are allowed $120 commissary and 2 of everything. Let me know If your LO says the same. They have no control over what other inmates do and that is my hard earned $ they are taking and i'll be damned if its gonna go unheard.

An inmate stabbed a guard. the prisoners are not in danger, they're just bored to death in their cells. Most of the guys in here are in there for drug violations and are not violent. My son was relieved at how much better people got along than he thought they would. The biggest problem is boredom. Send books and magazines as often as you can. The books have to be directly from the publisher, I mainly go to Amazon online.

I'm sorry your son is there but he'll be alright.

This is bs, they were just phasing out of lockdown and down again. This is so unfair because of a few inmates actions. I don't feel it is fair even if on lockdown to not have visits. Some of these guys have not seen family in years because they are so far away from home. We are working people who have to schedule time off from work some with pay, some without. We pay for hotels, cars, airline tickets etc and then cannot visit. I myself have twice made a 14 hour trip down there and NO visit. Human contact is so important not just for these guys but everyone. They say it is so important for the inmate to continue to have contact with family and keep a support system but then they take it away. Not only are they punishing all the inmates they are punishing us as well. Really tired of the federal system.

I agree the federal system is bull shit! how can they be "good productive members of society" if they aren't even allowed to communicate with anyone in society?!? the system is setup for failure! if our government spent as much $ on counselors n phsychologists to help the inmates rather than paying all these people who become "officers" for some egotistical power trip wanting to control everyone...then we would have A LOT LESS crime and a much better country!
