It's a shame that school wasn't dismissed earlier when all this bad weather started! Gotta get the "day" in so money can be made, forget the safety of the kids!

They should have to keep those Kids all weekend at the schools and the Big Boss. over the schools should have to drive from school to school checking on the Kids, Teachers, Cooks. and everyone that was required to show up on a Day when the weather has been reported to be Bad. They take parents to court if the Kids miss school now what about the parents taken them to court if there kids get hurt in this

We have the wrong ones sitting in the school board seats. What have they done for anyone?Seems to me they have done alot themselves.Look at the property and salaries off the kids backs they have acquired through lots of political game playing but they dont know what the weather forecast is.

Gilliam should have dismissed earlier or better yet cancelled school .People knew the storm was coming the night before that is what weather forecast are for! she wanted to have the final say but she put bus drivers and kids at risk for nothing.

Everyone in bell Co. Knows you can't depend on weather forecasts. If she would've cancelled school and all we got was rain people would've been complaining that school was canceled. Just be thankful that everyone made it home safely and quit complaining!

It would be better to be safe than sorry than creating the perfect storm. On the day of the storm we at least knew it was going to snow ahead of time and we had very high water along the roadside and some flooding.Just think about all the buses and the danger the kids were in especially in Frakes and Straight Creek and Brownies Creek. In the old days Mr Howard would have risk a wasted day instead of creating a day of disaster that never ever can be mended.Disasters can strike when warnings are not heeded and money can never replace the loss of life.If I had kids this would be my advice -Parents use your best judgement even if the school system doesn't.It is unfortunate but school is more about money than it is aboue kids welfare.I fear this trend will only continue to get worse. As long schools overspend this trend will only get worse.Bell is in the worst position it could be in these days. There will be no end to the spending till Bell finally chooses another superintendent who is rational when it comes to money.
