Probably fire, since they are on fire!

It was freaky -- as we were driving East past the hospital, we see these so called lights , and then down by Arby's you can see it was fire on the mountainside. It looks almost like someone set it, since it follows a line. Coming back from Harlan, it seems it's getting bigger. Anyone got any ideas on how it started.

You people besides one from Jackson, Ky are probably on some good drugs. Cari thinks because the fire is in a line it was probably set? Dumbass could you figure a fire CAN follow a line anyway whether it is set or lightning causes it?
Margie was wondering why they were lit up? Let me explain this to you Nostradumbass. Fire has a tendency to be bright, thats basically how the cavemen lit up the night and many people that followed, some people in today's age actually have fires for warmth and to be able to see at night.
Lets see what other dumbassess around think of this magical light on the mountain. I'm sure some will have seen Elvis on the chained rock looking at it.

very well said. Don't take a detective to know it was from fire.

This has to be the dumbest and most arrogant reply I have ever seen. Did you not read what they wrote or realize from what point of view they actually have? For Margie, it probably did look like lights lit up and she probably didn't realize it was fire because of her location. With Carl, it actually sounds like he has some common sense. NATURAL fires can't be started unless there's ....ummmm....I don't know.....LIGHTNING. Since it probably wasn't lightning, it would have to be SET!!! Fires caused by lightning are not in a straight line either. So, "Nostradumbass" grab yourself some comprehension skills and common sense BEFORE you insult others.

Oh, I feel like i need to apologize now since you've lambasted me over this..........ok, maybe not. You're a dumbass. No fire can be started by different forms dumbass.....a spark from a train, lightning, spontaneous combustion....and the list can go on and on. Before you try defending dumbasses maybe you should quit being such a dumbass yourself. "Fires caused by lightning are not in a straight line either." So you are an investigator for arson? I don't think so Nostradumbass. Fire can be in a straight line, it can be crooked, it can be upside down.....you have no idea what you are talking about. So shut tfu dumbass....come back when you have more intelligence than a snail....which i won't wait that long.....dumbass.

Actually, I have enough intelligence to know that all of those possible ways you listed are so far fetched. Spark from a train? Seriously? Lightening, when there WASN'T even a storm (or clouds) in the area? NO! Spontaneous combustion? While I was in COLLEGE, I learned that spontaneous combustion is very rare and mostly happens when people store up green hay/coal/piles of manure IN HOT WEATHER. If that were the case, the source would have already been found. Think about all of those crazy things you came up with! You are the clueless "dumbass" and a very imaginative one.

BTW, is "dumbass" the only insult you know? It sounds like you haven't got passed high school. Poor thing!

Hmmmm, lets see where to start. Sparks from a train....shows how much of a college education you have stupidass....and dumbass. When a train is stopped and has to start again, it causes sparks from the wheels to start out again. Its called FRICTION...stupidass and dumbass. Metal on metal causes sparks to come from the rail and wheel that actually makes enough sparks to look like a torch....dumbass. A few years ago on a rail line in Georgia from Augusta to Atlanta trains were permitted to pass through that area but weren't allowed to stop for fear of this type of fire. You have no idea what you are talking about.
Spontaneous combustion....caused from materials that can be combustive....as you mentioned some, coal, manure, green hay bales...there are more dumbass and stupidass. Leaves are another as is wood....believe it or not these are combustive materials....look it up stupidass and dumbass.
While you claim to have went to COLLEGE....I think Hamburger University doesn't qualify as an educated opinion....now go back to blowing your boyfriend before you actually make me talk down to you....dumbass.

Look at your language. It's hard for you to get your point across because of the verbal insults. From your words and lack of common sense you look mentally impaired. The fire was started no where near railroad tracks, AND there's so much more that would go along with that. For the rest of scenerios that you mentioned, it would take HEAT for those things to happen. Leaves, for example, would not combust when there has been a frost from the morning before or when cold and damp. Again, you make yourself look stupid.

Btw, why would I have to look any of this up? Is that what you did right before you posted? Probably so!

People like you make Kentucky and Bell County look bad. Do us a favor and quit showing your ignorance and don't watch so much tv.

What verbal insults dumbass? I will start talking down to you now. What makes people in general look stupid is asking a dumbass question about a fire on a mountain and saying stupid things like "lights on the Mountain", "I seen lights on a mountain and when i went around to the other side i didn't see them"....etc.etc. FIRE CAUSES LIGHT. Then to top all that off, you being a complete dumbass and getting on here defending these drug addicted people that think tinkerbell will fly in their house and stick something up there collective dumbasses. So you must be on drugs also dumbass. Ignorance isn't ust in this area, it is a wide spread issue. It reaches from coast to coast. And which really shows your ignorance........I'm not from Pineville or Bell County dumbass.....I live in Winchester, Kentucky.

Do you see that little thing under ones screen name on here? Thats called an address of where they are from....so, evidently you didn't study geography at Hamburger University dumbass....Now go back to blowing.

Wow you are just so smart and witty aren't you. I sir think you are the dumbass. Sparks from a train can start fires but goodness did the train jump the tracks and climb to the top of the mountain and decide to stop there? Now that's one hell of a train.

Yes I am very smart and witty, thanks for the comment. Now on to you, you are a dumbass for one....a man from a helicopter on a fourwheeler was spotted setting the fires...which was it? A helicopter or four-wheeler? The fire started at the bottom of the mountain dumbass. You only seen it when it was at the top because it went UP the mountain. Now dumbass when you have something else to comment on, come back and I'll critique your verbal and written stupidity. Thanks for the response jackwagon.

"firefly" There is a saying PEOPLE DON'T KNOW HOW STUPID YOU ARE UNTIL YOU OPEN YOUR MOUTH.
In your case it should say until you type on topix.. We all agree it was a fire. Now the reason they thnk it was sarted the fire burned down the mounain not up it. The helicopter saw someone in another area close by where another mountain fire started? So calling everyone dumbass seems fun to you it is kinda silly (don't you think so)
One last thing the little address under the name does not say where you are DUMBASS......lol

You try your best to be something you're not. You aren't red forman "dumbass" and you're certainly no earl lee emry "jackwagon" . If you will look back at my post you will see these little things ---->() around from a helicopter. That means they (the forestry officials) saw a man (from a helicopter) on a fourwheeler. See what I did there? No of course you didn't your too busy using the word "dumbass".
Usually when a person refers to another as a dumbass it's because they feel inadequate to that person or their argument isn't good enough to stand on it's own. Btw the fires did not start on the bottom of the mountain. The fourwheeler trails that the man was spotted on run along the ridgeline of that mountain. I lived in the newtown area for quite a while and know those mountains well. So why not jump on you mountain climbing train and chug-a-lug on back home.
