I support local, but if they are refilling prescription medication early, that is wrong. If the doctor is only allowed to write my medicine for a certain time frame, then how is it legal for the pharmacy to fill it early? If this is going on then, that is probably why there is a drug problem in Bell county. Which my insurance is making me start with the mail in prescriptions and I get 3 months at a time and do not have to worry about refills anyway.

well, I think that alot of you people are on medications because you have it in your heads that you need them. I see so many of you out there doing things that even I am not able to do like going to the bars and dancing your butts off, running out to catch a product on sale like Wal Marts black out sale, sitting in a seat for 2-3-more hours for free assistance. But when you get to your doctor you are bent over like your spine jut broke in two. You sit there at the office and complain to the other patients and the doctor on how bad you are hurting and can't stand it any more, but you get that perscription in your hand, watch out door! You make a b-line as fast as you can get there to the drug store. Get over it people! You get on this junk then when you are really in pain the meds don't help! I'm not talking about you people who have sugar or heart problems or cancer or anything like that but have you seen some of these young people in these doctors offices? They look terrible, they look like deth paid them a visit. No teeth, their hair is nappy, they are as skinny as a meth rat. These doctors should be checked out not the pharmacies.

<quoted text>WALGRENS PHARMACY was NOT OPEN Christmas, just the store, and you do have a 3-day window, even if you dont have a prescription and you've been taking a certain med for years such as blood pressure medicine, THEY WILL/AND MUST refill your prescription for 3-days, pain medicine probably is different, but its the law, sides who wants to go the worst not to mention highest pharmacy in town, the best is Pineville Hospital Out-patient Pharmacy, John Mills and staff will help you out anytime
i do know that who the doctor is depends on how early you can fill a prescription

If you would read what is written you would see that they are saying that the LAW allows a prescription to be filled up to 3 days prior to the refill date. Nobody said anything about getting anything early. But you will not get it one day prior at Walgreens, the corporate office said that was their policy and couldn't be changed. So like another post stated, whay would you want to send your money out of town to help OTHER communities when the one here needs it. I don't shop at Walgreens after I found out they DO NOT support local activities because of another policy they have and have found it faster, cheaper and also helping local people. If you want to shop at Walgreens, by all means, do so. But you have no voice when it comes to anyone, including you or anyone you know losing their job, home or family.

Same as the people who are against Bell County allowing the sale of alcohol. The ones who don't want the chance to get restaurants in the area to build the economy, are the first ones going to Knoxville, Corbin, Tazewell and London to eat. I much would rather see a good restaurant go up in Pineville instead of another pharmacy. When pharmacies fill meds early, especially pain meds you are talking about alot of extra pills out in the community that does not need to be there. Sad as it is, there are alot of people out there who doctor shop and pharmacy shop. One patient will go to the pharmacy 1 and get their prescription on file filled early without the doctors knowledge. Then they turn around and go to their doctor and get a refil and go to pharmacy 2 and get more medication filled before that "3 days" is even up. Sounds like to me, the corporations may not be supporting local needs, but they are doing the right thing by keeping the prescriptions under control. And anyway, if someone is taking a daily medication, they will know it is going to need to be refilled sooner than 3 days before they are out.

Well apparently you people have a severe problem with reading. I have read all through these post and cannot find anywhere that is stated meds are filled EARLY. As I stated, and you can check the law if you like, a pharmacy is allowed to refill a prescription up to 3, that is 3 day early if needed. Pain medication DOES NOT fall into this category. So if you are looking for a 3 DAY prior refill, FORGET ABOUT IT. Now that everyone can understand this, get over it. Do you all actually think that a pharmacy would even attempt to make an illegal refill with all the drug investigations going on? Unbelieveable. So 'lostcause' you can rest easy, NO EARLY REFILLS FOR PAIN PILLS. And I wonder why the whole country talks about the ignorance in Appalachia. And one more question for you Einsteins, do you think that a pharmacist is perfect, that they never miscount their pills they are giving you? what about some elderly person who drops a pill and lose's it? do you think they should go without because you think it is wrong to get a blood pressure pill 3 day prior to refill. You people are sickening. Spend you damn money at Walgreens or where ever you want, it's not like you worked for it anyway.

You need to call the pharmacys because you are mistaken. It is a fact that pain medication is included. It is and has been done in Pineville and it is wrong. You can call it 3 day prior to refill or whatever you want it is still 3 days earlier than when it is due to be refilled.

I did call 3 of them. They will NOT refill a pain medication early unless you go to a doctor and get a new prescription for it. They said they could give you anything but pain medication up to 3 days prior if needed. So, what pharmacy you using that does this with pain meds.?

i work in a pharmacy people, no matter who they are, cannot fill any controlled substancemore than 2 days early and sometimes if a doctor writes on the script that it must last 30 days, we cant fill it until then. any pharmacy filling a controlled substance more than that many days early should be reported. it's illegal.

are you one of those idiots that work at walgreens. I can tell you for a fact, because they did it to me, that walgreen will not fill your blood pressure medicine one day early. I may be the morons that you have answering the phone or one of those brainless girls working in there but it happened to me twice and then I asked another pharmacy what the law was and they said it was possible to fill your meds (NOT PAIN MEDICINE) up to three days prior if your refill was on a holiday or other day they wasn't open. Walgreen will not do this regardless. It is their company policy (chain store)and nothing they can do about it. If you like walgreen then you either don't have to work for a living and have no one in your family that works because all the money you spend there goes OUT OF TOWN. They do not support the local economy.

to "WTF", the girls there are not brainless, and the one's that "answer the phones" do everything that everyone else does. it's everyone's responsibility. pharmacy's including walgreens can do blood pressure and things of the sort early. i was talking about controls. if you called and they told you you couldn't get it, it's because it was simply TOO early. insurance plays a part in that too. we can't bill anything through insurance if they won't let us. don't just blame walgreens.

I don't know who you work for but when did all these laws change? If your refill was due on say the 12th and that was a Sunday, he would refill on Friday or Saturday, Walgreen won't do that. When I used Rite Aide they also would follow these policies. The problem is Walgreen is like Walmart, they are not from here, all they want is your money. And yes, the girls at Walgreens are brainless, at least 75% of them. I really don't think you work at a pharmacy because you apparently have a different view of the law than those at Rite Aide, Jeff's, Walmart Pharmacy or any of the rest because before I switched from walgreen I called each one and asked what their policy was. They were all different than walgreens. The only reason I stayed with a pharmacy in Pineville is because I work there and it's on the way. If people want to ship their money out of the county and help people in other states with work thats up to them, but I wouldn't buy a band aid from Walgreens. I went without blood pressure medicine twice because of those knit wits. Not had any problems since then.

did I say anywhere in my post that I worked at a pharmacy moron?NO Nor do I know more than everyone else, just you. And why should anybody have to know their names to know they are incompetent? You are on here trying to talk about $hit you know nothing about. The topic was about walgreens refill policies. If you want to go there, which I'm sure the taxpayers are buying your pills for you anyway, thats up to you. But they have rules from their corporate office that other pharmacies don't. You are an idiot. All you have to do is pick up the phone and call around the county and ask what their policies are, they will tell you. But like I said, why should you worry, your welfare is free.

just so you know i don't get welfare. i work my ass off for a livin and you dont have any right calling anyone incompetent. the workers there know their policy much better than you, im sure. i guess that actually makes YOU ignorant toward the situation, now dont it?
