People can be living right here in bell county and have a canada ip address and no they are not chaning it to make it say that, that is the ip address given to them by their internet provider. Most people do hide their ip so there are no traces left behide visiting sites where they use their credit cards so no one can pull an identity theft on them.
You need to think about other things like that.

why does it matter anyhow what the ip address says? I sure dont give a f*ck

A lot of people that don't understand what they are talking about, assume that ISP addresses imply physical whereabouts. When in fact it simply states where the internet service provider has connected to topix. To further the ignorance, they assume that everyone with the same isp, are all the same person, when in fact there are probably thousands that use the same internet company. Sad but true.

Look up ISP address and software to hide it. Ever heard of tracking cookie? Companies find out your likes dislikes the type of things you're interested in and calculate what might sell, trade or become of value by trends.Innocent enough, right!

I use Jondo, it is the best anonymous IP filter. It links to a proxy server, and it changes the IP address dynamicly. You will also need to set your cookies. You can be tracked by those , as well.

for jondo download, please select link below:

on your internet browser, click TOOLS. then click INTERNET OPTIONS, then go to CONNECTIONS, then click on LAN SETTINGS.

there is where anyone can choose to a proxy server either local or not. not really a big deal. every computer with internet has this option.
its kinda stupid that there are stuff that charges you to hide your ip address, when you can just do it yourself.
makes me wonder if those companies do it just so they can steal your info. its better to have some type of internet sercurity while you're at it. i had someone from my internet company trying to break into my computer, causing a high risk. good thing i had norton security, it warned me and blocked it itself. wanna know something funny? i traced their ip address down to maryland and that its my ISP(internet service provider). when i confronted them about it, they was shocked that i found out that info. they haven't done it since that i know of. lol.

i bypassed mine. it hasn't interferred with my net settings at all. the bypass is local addresses. the address part? i think you can put in a different city and state. i recently found out that i have more than 2 ip addresses. weird if you ask me, but guess its a good thing.
