I am from Richmond,KY and was in Pineville Saturday, staying at Pine Mountain State Park. There was my 72 year old dad and 69 year old mother with 6 other family members in Suburban with me which included 4 kids. Stopped by Wal-mart first and heard air leaking from my tire. Went over to John's Tire to just to get them to plug tire. Probably would have taken 10 minutes AT THE MOST. They still had tires out front they hadn't even put up for the day. The idiots that were working Saturday said they were getting ready to close for the day and they couldn't help us. You know, I work in the public 5 days a week and I see it in the majority of the public. They are just "mean" people that out there. They don't care about no body but themselves and wouldn't help you if you were dying. What happened with helping out in a time of need? So, I guess John's Tire has soooo much business that they don't need the money. John, if that was not you that was there Saturay, you better be watching the store, because they are turning away customers and if you were there, Shame on you. You are SCUM!!!!!!!

if you heard air leaking from your tire in middlesboro at the walmart, then why did you drive 10 miles to pineville to fix your tire, passing up at least a half dozen places in middlesboro, that could have fixed your tire? and another thing, unless the hole in your tire was obvious, your tire would have to be dismounted, the hole located, repaired, and remounted. this would have taken at the very minimum, twenty to twenty-five minutes. how much would you have been willing to pay? less than $5 bucks is my guess. i have worked overtime many times before, helping someone just like you, then been hammered for charging a fair rate for my time and trouble. maybe the guy saw you coming and figured you just wasn't worth the trouble. my guess is that you just want to rag on john's tire and are from a holler in bell county.
glad you are ok

Bless your heart. I can't believe this. You had your 72 year old dad and 69 year old mother with 6 other family members in Suburban with you which included 4 kids. I can't believe you got that far with that load. Did you end up going back to Middlesboro, or risk the families lives and headed on north to Barbourville. That much weight with a slow leak even going a mile could have turned tragic. Glad you are ok.

Mr. Old Tire Man from Clay City: I knew exactly where the leak was and there was a small screw in the tire and NO it did not need to be dismounted. I am not a tight wad, I was going to pay him $50.00 to plug the tire because I knew they were getting ready to close and I wanted to make it worth his time and effort but he still refused. Yes, I want to "Rag Out" John's tire because other people need to know what kind of business is operating in their community. No, I am not from a "holler" in bell county. I from Richmond, KY and guess what, I have a college education and I still have all my teeth and I can count to ten. Not all people are from Clay City!!!!

I agree with the above poster. John's (Joe) has always been great to us. Cheapest labor costs... best prices on tires and very quick and efficient (usually ...unless they're really busy).

Everyone can have an "off" day. But John's Discount Tire is still the best place for most mechanic type work around.

Saturday at closing time?.... doesn't sound like life or death ... put your spare on and bring the tire in during business hours to get it fixed.... everyone likes to have their own personal time too.

Glad you are ok: I ended up buying an air compressor and I fixed it myself. Thank you, we are fine. Had a great weekend at Pine Mountain State Park. It is a beautiful place. I am a grandmother(MiMi) to 2 boys and they enjoyed being with their cousins at the cabins at Pine Mountain. Thank you for being concerned.
glad you are ok

Oh my goodness, you bought a compressor? You must live in Richmond, because folk's in these parts would have been smart enough to invest in a spare. Next time stop and ask a Bell county resident, i'm sure their kid's could help you. You have a good day and don't forget your spare the next time.

I'm going to clue you in on a little survival tactic to use if you ever get stranded here again. This is why they refused to help you: You are arrogant and they knew it. If you expect respect, you must give it in return. Your statements prove your attitude. People in this town trust that tire shop. I am a regular patron there and have never had an issue with any of the workers. Fat lot of good it's doing you getting on here and slandering one of the few remaining successful small businesses in my town. If you have an issue with a business, contact the management.
Guess what? I live in a "holler." I have a Master's Degree. I have never had a cavity in my life. I own a business in Bell County and contribute my time and resources to my community. Do you? Do not stereotype people based on their geographic location. Richmond, KY...that "big city" life is really getting you places, isn't it?.....Pathetic

Pardon me, I just realized you are a "Mam" not a "Sir." So am I! I'm a woman! I also know how to patch a tire myself. They didn't teach that at my Alma Mater...did they at yours? No, I learned that by watching some "uneducated" old man with no teeth. He sure was helpful! Guess you wouldn't know anything about that, though...would you?

I also am from Richmond and had the same thing happen to me by John's Tire. Was at a family reunion and getting ready to leave and had tire problem. Some one mentioned to me John's Tire. They turned me away too and it was 45 minutes before they closed. I just needed a plug too!! All I got to say, you live and learn!!! So, you have learned not to go to John's Tire if you are ever in that area again because you will not get any service.

Hey, you forgot to mention your toothless brother ken and his successful "small business" in the "big city" of flat lick? He "contributes" his time and resources to the community, also.
