Getting car insurance for the first time on my own, but have a speeding ticket, cost?

I understand that if you have car insurance and get a ticket for the first time, the cost might not go up a lot. However, I don t have car insurance yet (rather, my dad can t pay for it anymore, so I have to get my own) so I ll have the ticket on my record when I get the insurance.

It s 3 points and I m in Wisconsin, and it s my first offense. Obviously I ll shop around and frankly ask the reps if it ll affect it, but for starters I m asking here - will this make the initial cost more expensive for a few years? If so, will it be a dramatic difference?
