They should have waited until November to hold the election. Turnout would have been higher.

Seems to me Mike Kuehn's term as mayor should last until the election this fall, 2008.

Then have a real election with all voters having the chance to make the choice for mayor.

I hear he got 900 votes out of a town with 11,000 residents, probably 8,000 voters so Mike got 1 out of 9 votes. What a joke!!

In the mean time I hope he DUMPS the Friday night car show, that should get his head in a bees nest, LOL.

I spent last week up north. The 4th fireworks along the shore of the lake we were on were spectacular, I think there were more private arial rockets than the nearby city provided.

Meanwhile on the 4th in North Saint Paul near King Kuehn's house a Block Captian (designated to protect the block as one of Kuhen's Tower Park organization) was shooting off some bottle rockets and had 3 visits from NSP PD. The last visit he was told it would be a ticket and confiscation if there was any more of that!

So the highway 36 "Project" was started spring 2007. Here we are summer 2008 and the Margaret bridge is still being built.

6 months into the 36 project the I35W bridge fell. The 35W bridge was then demolished. The I35W bridge will be completed before the Margaret street bridge over highway 36 is done.

Maybe after FlatIron gets done with the I35W bridge they could spend a 8 hour shift on the Margaret street bridge over 36 and:

!!!!!!!!!! GET HER DONE !!!!!!!!!!

My GOD MnDOT is pathetic!

Friend lives by the high school in NSP and the trash hauler enpties the dumpsters at 5:30 AM. Everyone wakes up to thje slam banging.

There is an ordinance against picking dumpsters before 7 AM and he called the city a week ago and nothing changes!

Ya see if ya work for NSP and live in Edina, who cares! The ride home isn't bad in my brand new Suburban burning FREE gas. Meanwhile the poor working folks in NSP are having a hard time buying food!

Oh I forgot NSP is a major metropolis requiring a high priced manager and a very expensive electrical utility!

I wonder what the "Tax Burden" is on a NSP resident as opposed to other towns in the metro?

Don't ya just wonder?

A guy looked at property taxes in NSP and they are in the top 5% metrowide, and that ain't good like a school grade!

If higher electric rates, community center, city owned property OFF the TAX roles, dipping by city employees for personal benefit, bulk item pickup, organized trash removal (smell kickbacks).

Makes me wonder just how much the poor taxpayers are being ripped off.

Don't you wonder?

Lillie news didn't report the number of votes Mike Kuehn got.

Peterson got 350/24% Kuhen got 44% SB 600 votes.

less than 1 out of 10 people who normally vote.

FIXED ELECTION FOR SURE

NSP residents would be up in arms if they had a brain!

Having lived in NSP for 60 years and being a 4rd generation resident and seen NSP being managed professionally by Bob Gatti there is hope!

Why should I move and incur the cost of moving including realtors fees etc. Not only that houses in NSP aren't selling! Every block has one for sale and the market is stagnet, thanks to high property taxes brought to us by the City!

I took what was published in the Lillie news, they didn't publish Kuhen's count, HMMMM.

I initially heard Kuhen got 900 votes but then reading Peterson's total of 350 and her 24% puts Kuhen (44%) at 700 votes<>. Lillie published normal turnout in a fall election at 7,800 in a town of 11,000, seems right.

So if Kuhen got 700 votes that's less than 10% of the normal voter turnout. Or 1 in 10 votes that would be cast in a fall election.

Of course the Lillie news didn't actually publish Kuhen's vote count so, only his percentage, ya just know there is something funny going on there, at least they want people to feel there's something funny going on.

In any case Kuhen was able to manipulate the election by holding it when most of the people arn't voteing and during the holiday week when most people are wanting to forget and have a happy 4th weekend.

The word is hollow victory, Kuhen really doesn't have a mandate from the NSP residents. But that is the way he wanted it when he set the election when it was held.

So the only letter to the editor in the Lillie news was from the humble new mayor elect Mike Kuhen.

A real winner!

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Keep calm! Your emotions are becoming increasingly heightened and intense today. As a result, you're likely to take things much more seriously than usual. That's wonderful if you're involved in a hot and heavy encounter with Mr or Ms Right, but it won't be such good news if you go overboard about silly trifles. If you're doing some last-minute shopping you'll want to be as extravagant as your budget allows. Or is it a case of Budget...? What budget?
