Yes something needs to be done! so easily said! i start in my own house, i know what problems i have in my own backyard and i try every single day to adress them with my sons. i try to be a positive role model, teach them their culure, religion and sustain from alcohol and drugs. my sons are in the wildboyz gang and i am not proud! I taught them at a young age of respect, but i grow tired and have no support. Alcohol and drugs are in control of my relatives. And my sons will not listen to them because of it. But i will not give up!!!i pray every single day my sons will see one day that being a gangster is wrong!!

Ive been from one end of this country to the other. There are really bad gangs on either end, each with their own crime and culture, they flare up and die down with the swing of a gavel or a hammer. But in the case of Pine Ridge: There are at least a dozen gangs in the whole area. And what I can say about the Wild Boyz, aside from any other gang in the area, is that they are purely a product of the REZ. Unlike many other gangs on the Rez i.e.( East Side Trey, TBZ, NSGD, NMB, ect. even the now defunct Igloo.) The Wild Boyz do not claim colors and sects from the east and west coast like many of the other gangs on the Rez. The way I see the Wild Boyz is not much of a possibility. This group of young men have the numbers to influence many young people on the rez. If by some miracle they decided to begin operating legitametly, they could quite possibly show other young men a different path, aside from the one of violence and drugs, with the protection and brutality of the gang to protect young people who wish to succeed from other gangs (whose own informal doctrine only drags those young people down.) that may not want them to succeed. Its sad though. The Wild Boyz hierarchy is scattered like legos, weak as single pieces. But if they came together, each one of those individual bricks would become a very strong wall. With the ability to perhaps incite change.

gangs are a group of young men doing what they do best "hanging out", it's the fact that other gang members are trying to show up other gang members and vice versa. all you need to do is lend a hand to someone in a gang make them feel like there is someome there that actually cares for them.

Gangs, aren't supposed to be onthe reservation, but you have all the kids lost with in themselves, who want to fit in somewhere, and feel liked and loved, this some a majority of them come from broken homes, singles parents, etc; so then they join gangs or produce one, thus causing violence amongst the native peoples. this is not right therefore I say a plan needs to be created and implemented soon! what happened to the ways of our ancestors this was not part of life!
