Sissy boy? What got your shorts in a knot today? From your inappropriate comments it looks like you had your mind made up before you asked the question. Maybe he couldn't legally abandon the undelivered mail to anyone else while he put out. Maybe watching the kids was the best he could do.

I think the previous quote was correct and he was not able to legally leave the mail. It didn't state if he wanted to leave the mail and help with water, but he may have lost his job if that was the case

For all we know, grandma may have only been 50 and the mailcarrier was 70. There are a lot of things that could have happened here.
