Nevis is a small northern Minnesota town in the lake-dotted country between Walker and Park Rapids.

We had a female philanderer and she was right HERE, no less, in the Saintly City. A rising politcal star on our very own City Council. Something about untoward advances in an elevator at City Hall which resulted in a sexual harrassment lawsuit. Disgraced, she disappeared into the private sector where she hustles for public funding though there are always rumors of a comeback.

Obviously the editorial page staff have failing memories or they're merely carpetbaggers brought in by the current owners who know nothing of what truly seethes underneath the facade presented by the "better elements" of our community.

Thanks for the gentle reminder. I'd almost forgotten about our wayward councilwoman. But don't worry, this newspaper sometimes likes to trot her out as an "expert" now and then in stories on "urban developement" or the revitalization of downtown.
