The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office has charged a McCreary County man with multiple child pornography crimes following an investigation and grand jury indictment.
The investigation by the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office began in August, 2010 after an undercover police officer in Wheaton, IL discovered a suspect was sharing child pornography across the Internet. Officials in Wheaton, IL contacted the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division after learning the files being shared were originating in Pulaski County.
The Sheriff's Office investigation led to a search warrant being issued for the residence of Eric D. Bryant, 23, on Judy Drive in Bronston. In that search, detectives confiscated computers, CD's, flash drives, cell phones and other electronic storage media. After their recovery, the items were sent to the Kentucky State Police Computers Crimes Section in Frankfort, where a forensic examination was conducted to find and recover any items of child pornography.
The examination of the items resulted in the recovery of 87 various images and videos depicting children under the age of 16 engaged in various sexual acts.
The findings of the investigation were presented to the February, 2012 session of the Pulaski County Grand Jury. The Grand Jury returned an indictment, charging Bryant with 87 counts of Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Minor - a class B felony.
Bryant was served a warrant Tuesday while in the McCreary County Jail on other charges. Bryant remains in the McCreary County Jail on a $100,000 cash bond pending transfer to Pulaski County for his court arraignment. http://www.lex18.com/news/mccreary-county-man...
