This is not always true. My 84 year old grandmother overdosed on blood pressure medication. The bottle said "4 pills every 2 hours" it should have said "2 pills every 4 hours". It was to raise her blood pressure, but it raised it too much! She had a stroke due to overdose. But thanks to fast response she is still with us today.

In this case it might have been poor judgement or lack of attention by the doctor, but the doctor would not necessarily be held responsible. However, if I was in any sort of critical condition or even for any medication I take, I always pay special attention to how I feel and research online the possible dangers. I was thinking more of people out there who are experimenting with drugs and taking dangerous risks.
