I spent the day today in Watson Chapel and Pine Bluff visiting places that I knew growing up as a child there in the early and mid sixties.

To the two men on the porch of the first house I can remember living at in Watson Chapel, I don't know you and will never see you again, but from the bottom of my soul, thank you for letting me just look around while memories from 50 years ago washed over me mixed with tears of today.

To the blond lady with the pretty blue eyes wearing the green top at the elementary school, you must be sent from Heaven. Thank you for being so patient with me while my memories filled me to my eyes and began brimming over.

To the counselor in the blue shirt standing in the hallway, God bless you. Yes, it is different now, isn't it? And it is unspeakably, ineffably sad to see that the differences aren't good ones. Thank you for just letting me look and touch for a few minutes the place that was such a part of my life half a century ago.

I was blessed to learn that there are still good people in the world. Thank you, all of you.
