teds choice to run 4 office is adirect result of the "powers that b" in duquoin because a certain commissioner would not do as he was told

its a shame ted allowed himself get caught up in this.i feel sorry for him . but not enough to vote for him . the commissioners are doing a heck of a job and are working together for the good of the county.it would be a shame to break up the team we have now.

Sheriff gets charged in another county and the so called commissioners do nothing? Yea they are doing a real good job!!! Time for a change! That makes our county look real appealing doesnt it? If you look into every candidate who runs for office there will be a personal agenda why they are running. If anyone shields themselves from that makes them naive and foolish.

I felt the same way. I contacted 2 of the commissioners and was told there is nothing they can do. There is nothing on the books(county)that prevents this type of behavior from elected officials. No code of ethics, not even conduct unbecoming for a county employee(like that state of illinois has)so nothing can be done. Further conversations lead me to believe that all 3 commissioners would like to see something like conduct unbecoming on the books. For some time now the legal land comparative research(what other counties have concerning moral conduct)is being done.Unfortunately once an ordinance is passed it will NOT take care of past moral failures of elected officials. As for needing change! My parties present commissioner is in the minority. Do we forget? This is the second year the county has not had to borrow money. Wasn't that a given for the past 12-14 years? Come on! These are the best commissioners we've had in years! Obama campaigned on change. Look what happened with that! For the first time in years it seems that a certain couple of individuals from DuQuoin have no say in how the county is run. Change-is that the real agenda?? I think not.

Nicely done. A change means for them to stand up for what's right. Put the code of conduct on the books...even though it is not retro active. As far as Obama is concerned my child, 7 yrs old, expresses the extreme dislike of his job. For the commissioner who is up, I have been pleased with him for the "most" part. From what I hear he stood against the DQ people therefor he must go. That is all I heard, don't know what he stood against or for at that. I didn't mean to sound anti-Bobby, I'm not.

Just what law in Perry County did Kellerman violate? It appears to me that if the Commissioners were to take such action the citizens would be paying dearly as Kellerman would certainly be able to sue the county for such hasty action. Is he an embarrasment to the county - yep, but just what law did he break!

First lets cite "Public Decency", Illinois criminal Code 720 5/11-30. Look it up and read it. Then a less common charge, yet it's still there is "Adultery", Illinois Criminal code 720 5/11-35. The Sheriff is lucky the Officer charged him on local ordinance instead of state, which can still be charged by the way. As the Sheriff he is sworn to uphold all laws State And Local, not break them! So yes the commissioners should act, did I say hastily, No. If one of his Deputies did such an action there would be disciplinary action taken. And I can hardly believe that you talk on behalf of the citizens of perry county. So tell me what actions had the commissioners taken to address such immoral behaviors?

Teddy is a decent person and tried to make a difference. Which is more than most. Everyone wants to gripe but that's it. At least he had the balls to try.

Are the citizens of.perry county just gona let sheriff kellerman retire after the first of january, which is when he is elgible for his pension...than go plead guilty to his sex crimes....maybe some people should go do some digging about him attempting to have sex with his neices and nephews when they were young kids.....everyday he remains in office is another day that your county looks bad

You shouldn't be allowed to be a Sheriff, or any cop for that matter when you are as morbidly obese as Mr. Kellerman is. It would not be difficult to get out of a tasers range before Mr. Kellerman could pull the trigger. Sad, but true.

The board isn't anything to brag about by a long shot. But i do agree that the voters did have their say. That said, what does this thread have to do with the last two comments?
