Just exactly how have they been acting that has you so upset. And what has Michelle done to you to make you go as far as to post under the name you do. She is a very outspoken person yes. She is a person who expresses what she thinks very strongly yes. she is also a person who has always been very involved in the schools. even before she became a school board member. she is also a person who has had to fight very hard with lots of people to make sure her disabled son gets the help from this system he deserves. she has also helped others get the help they needed for their children with the things she has learned along the way. there are lots of very good things she has done for lots of people. but people do not know about this because she does it quietly out of the goodness of her heart. she also became a school board member because she was asked, it was not her idea. i know because i was there when she was first about it. and when they asked her they said it was because. they new that she would do what she thought was right for the kids and the teachers. no matter what people said or did to her. and that is exactly what she has done. she fights as hard as she can. because she truly believes it is what is best for them and she has paid dearly for it to.

sorry I will not put names to my post. I don't want people to just take my word for it I want them to see for themselves. plus I can't afford to be sued. that has been happening a lot lately. and even if you win you still have to pay a lawyer a lot to defend yourself. If you can't go yourself maybe you could have someone go for you and tape it so you could see. eye opening means I was surprised at the way people. I have know most of my life behaved. some of these church going, god fearing people I know and love. did not behave very christian.

You know Nipper should have been gone...He should have been a man and retired a long time ago, but no he had to have that little bit of power for his ego..I don't feel sorry for him..all I can say is Karma is hard when it hits you and he has had it coming for years..He as let go to my understanding because he didn't want to comply to the contract that Kiper gave him...so if you don't want to do your job go home..I think Kiper is just trying to do what the people in this community want better the education of our children..As far as the board meeting I am sure it will be a circus with lots of asses and its stupid to keep this crap up. Forget and if Kiper doesn't do a good job and abide by his contract then get rid of him, but lets give him a chance maybe he can make things better...at least job openings are being posted now before they are filled..By the way how would you have gotten rid of Nipper since you wouldn't have done it that way???

Go to the meetings you'll get it figured out like I did .Our system has money but instead of spending it in our childrens classroom where it ought to be, quess where it has been going ,in the back pocket of the well connected good old boys and their families. To heck with our children! Bledsoe County people, you better wake up, you now have a chance to stand up for your children and make a difference in their education .The reason the Gobs are fighting Kiper so much is because they can't control him and they don't have control of the money anymore. With him ,YOU'RE CHILDREN WILL BENEFIT! SHOW UP LET YOU'RE VOICES BE HEARD!
AMEN AMEN AMEN If you can go you should, to support the GOOD that has been done, and is going to be done now. The parents of the high school students who are going to protest need to take control of their kids and sit them down and explain to them that the things that have been done in the past were wrong and the changes that have been made are long overdue, and that they have been done for them and the kids to come after them. The Good People of this county need to show up and Thank the members who have made this possible, who showed up for every meeting and gave their time and their own money and their good name to be trompled into the ground to get this done!

I think the students should be hearad when they want to speak. If they have a spokes person for their group. I understand when Mr. N was fired, students wanted to go to gym and sit in protest of this and they were told they would be taken to jail and put in BOOT CAMP all next summer. How are the students suppose to let their feelings be heard. Should they request an assembly time of their own to discuss their feelings about situations. Are they going to clean out the schools with all teacher-student relationships. I understand there is more. Bledsoe schools have had their share of improper school officals. Some covered up, some ran out of town and others still lingering around. Maybe the students should have their own rally, off campus and peaceful to show their support. Isn't that our right, freedom of speech!!!!!!!!

If the students want to speak they should have a spokesperson show up at board Meeting and ask to be put on the agenda.. Of course they wanted to protest during school, they get out of class..I heard once they found out they were there to get Nipper back that most of them got up and went back to class on their own..Could it be that a couple of the female teachers encouraged this???

I disagree, students are still minors they don't understand the whole spectrum of this issue and should be protected. None of this should be played out in the class rooms or inside the school. It needs to be talked about at home NOT in school! The kids need to calm down and listen for a while instead of jumping into this blindly.

You must have misread what I said..No it shouldnt be played out at school, but if the students have something to say they should appoint someone and they should present their feelings to the public. I think some of the teachers encouraged the sit out or whatever and Nipper should have never done the assembly that was stupid...but what do you expect...hopefully Kiper will get rid of some of the other teachers that don't want to do their job..seems like everyone wants to be a chief but noone wants to be an Indian...the board meeting should be a circus tomorrow night all you guys that are for the changes need to show up and give your support...I will b there...how bout you???

oops sorry I meant to reply to ENOUGH not really you meme sorry. but I also want to say that if the kids will calm down and think about it they have been heard more more in the last year than ever before. My nephew and his friends came before the School Board to ask them to change the dress code and the Chairman Sue everett allowed them to talk I was shocked because they would never have been allowed to talk when Allen Smith was the chairman. or even Jeff Smith! And guess what even though the men voted against them the dress code got changed! These kids have it good compared to Sequatchee county - you ought to read their dress code WOW!

These kids were doing what they were told by some of the teachers at our fine school. 90% of those kids are so glad Nipper is gone and yes kids do have freedom of speech also, but as parents you should teach them to do it the right way

Whatever happened to the enjoyment of attending school in Bledsoe County? I loved it! I attended Pikeville Elem. and BCHS. Those were some of the best days of my life. I don't remember all the riff-raff that our schools are faced with today. But it's been many years since I was in school. Everybody was happy, all the students and faculty. Reminiscing back to those days brings a smile to my face along with a chuckle. Just to tell you how long it's been, Mr. Warden was principal of P.E.S. and Mr. Brown was principal at B.C.H.S. the old high school was awesome, I never attended the new one. My class was one of the last to graduate from that high school. It's heart wrenching to read these post and realize just how much politics intertwine with our kids educations. School should be a fun learning experience, and not be ran as if it were a prison. I also received an excellent education through this school system allowing me to further my education with no problem. My children and grand-children have all attended schools in Cumberland Co. due to our close proximity to Cumberland Co. Everything was great for awhile, now they've got their share of problems too. There is a solution to EVERY problem we just need to quit bickering back and forth and come up with a solution. Our children deserve better. Let's try to allow them to enjoy school in the 21st century as I did in the 20th century. Thank You.

I agree with you Kali it should be a great experience for our children. I believe it started going down hill after we lost Mr Kennedy. He was a great man. That school has not been the same sense. I also agree that politics should not even enter into any discussion about schools. When you start playing politics in our schools. Our children are the ones who suffer. I am beginning to believe the two big political parties should be done away with. Look what is happening in our world now. They all play with our lives to further their own party both of them do. Like right now here we have a republican president, and a democratic congress. Neither wants to do anything right. Because congress knows if they block getting anything done everyone blames the president because he is the commander and chief. They want to make him look so bad it will make it more likely that people will be so upset that they will be more likely to vote for there man. and the republicans would be just as bad. All any of them care about anymore is getting their party in power. If we let politics into our schools we will have the same problem. And our children will be the ones to pay.

You know, this is true, and very sad. Board members haggling back and forth, 5 agree on this 5 disagree on that, VISCOUS cycle. Who suffers at the end of the saga, our children! My 5 year old grandson is already afraid of his music teacher, this man is disliked by many kids. Music class is FUN or used to be, I loved it, my kids loved it. Music is a must in my day to day life.
Are our children safe at school? School shootings are everywhere with no school exempt. Where or what security measures have been taken to ensure our child's safety?
School shootings and police officers in the hallways were unheard of when I was in school.
What are we going to do to change this scenario? Any Suggestions?
Yes, politics do play a huge roll in our schools but I can't know if they are helping or hurting our kids future.

This teacher is in Cumberland Co. He is afraid of him because the little fellow is very shy, music teacher fusses at him because he won't sing loudly enough, doesn't like to dance etc...I'm not referring to music as in band. Music as in art. He loves to listen to music at home and in the car but when it comes to music in school it's a different ball-game. The teacher more or less singles him out in front of his classmates embarrassing him. That doesn't fly too well with me. Another example of fun being taking out of learning.

Feed Up where have you been at lately?Politics is what I saw four of the board members batteling over ,they were trying to take the school system out of the politcal arena and give it back to the people. Those people were attacked right and left from the GOBS.Three of the board members ran for cover and took the political easy way out ,they threw your kids educational need out the window and done what was politicaly right to save their own hides. This system has been in need of progressive and positive leadership for a long thank God for people who will put themselves out their for the good of our children and our community .

I think Nipper is a dirty old man and that he shoud have been gone but not the way that it happened. But the important thing now is that we hire a good principle who is qualified and able to take us in a better direction. I think Mike Oreto should have been fired first. Nipper was just a perve. Mr. O screws our kids on scholorships, grants, and all kinds of financial oppurtunities that could better their future. I wish Jennifer Terry or Mrs. Hamilton from Sequatchie would take his place!!
