I think Gregg Ridley our County Mayor who is trying to stand up for what is right for the people of Bledsoe County he is not perfect for he is a human being. He is a compassionate man who has time for people. I seen it first hand and he is a family man and he is a praying man. I think he does his job honestly and he is going by the law ( i.e. the constitution of the state of Tennessee) in which he swore an oath to uphold. To get rid of an attorney by the advice of auditors and law who controls the county and if the things I hear about Mr Upchurch are truth he should not be fit to be an attorney and he should be disbarred. I think the people of this County ought to stop backbiting and stand up and make themselves count. Support the elected officials who is trying to do right and are doing their duties. Support them get rid of the corrupt by your vote or shut up. And quit playing party politics vote as a citizen or shut up I am tired of the grippers who do nothing but manufacture a rumor mill in our town and in our county no wonder we have nothing here so pull together citizens and we can have it all!!

I have been reading this for several weeks now trying to decide if I should send my child to school in this county due to all the issues the board is having with the superintendent...Many of you have bad mouthed Mr. McDaniels...I know him personally and he is a good honest man that has raised 3 wonderful young ladies that have families of their own..He has always been honest and a good man and is married to a very kind caring woman who would help anyone that needed and deserved it in anyway...I also want to say that I did take my child to the Pre-k and Kindergarten screening where I met Ms. Shannon (McDaniel) Cunningham. I would just like to say how impressed I was with the way she worked with the children...So regardless of the student teaching situation I would just like to say she was one of the best and kindest teachers that I have encountered. If this school system loses her we will certainly be losing one fine young lady in our system that truly is concerned with your children...so before badmouthing people maybe you should take the time to see some of these things first hand...

hey everyone, i haven't been on in a while and i don't have alot of time now to read back through the old post's you guy's have put up. i do have a quick question thou i heard that mr. mcdaniels was reinstated as the super! is this true? and if so is it just for the remainder of this school year? i also heard that... well sorry for slacking and having to be caught up this way but if someone would bring me up to date id be greatly appreciative.. oh and hey martini! got in anybody's shit lately and told them what for? lol... if so sorry i missed it... cant wait to go get time to do some catch up reading.. thanks guys...

There will never be any attorney's as wise as Mr. Upchurch & his father the late Proctor Upchurch. Just ask around.....you need to learn more about the laws before you begin slamming Mr. Upchurchs abilities. Your comment shows "you cannot fix stupid". Saying a car salesman can't be a mayor is so ignorant. That's like saying a high school dropout can't start a store that would become one of the largest chains in America, i.e. Sam Walton. Are you saying that ALL car salesmen don't have leadership abilities, or are you just referring to the car salesman that you apparently don't like? I'm really confused about the connection. My point is, political connections can get you elected. Running a government entity is totally different than selling cars. One must know how to run a county government which is much different than selling cars. I have no qualms with the county mayor, i just question his abilities regarding the laws. You need to quit listening to country music and start going to the law library in the courthouse to enlighten your mind on Tennessee laws. Mr. Ridley should not allow his personal feelings to interfere with his position, which is a downfall for the entire county. I personally question many decisions and comments which i've read in your local newspaper. One article really got my attention, regarding the courtroom security system. I'm a certified court security officer, i received my certification through the Tenessee Bureau of Investigation. Mr. Ridley's statements were utterly ridiculous which shows he's lacking in the purpose of having "courtroom security". Are the court officers certified? Apparently not. There are many other prospects of his job in which I strongly disagree. By no means do i intend to SLAM Gregg Ridley. We all are entitled to our opinions and this is mine. The wonderful people of Bledsoe County deserve better than what they are getting.

Just wanted to add, you know there is not many jobs in this area, teachers we need and teachers will stay if position is open for them. Our children can only have a job in school system or medical field. There is not much else in this county to work at. So, I'm tired of listening to his child or her child having jobs in the system. Of, course, some are passed down in the family. So, work on jobs for our children and more tax money to hire better. The better goes where they can make more money. Trust me, watch the flow.

I think Bledsoe County should be took over by surrounding counties such as Sequatchie and Cumberland.I truly hate saying that but what else can help us? Our children will have to drive for miles just to have a job during and after high-school what will the gas prices be then?I have lived here for 20 yrs and I thought once McDonalds came it would grow alot more what happened?Wal-mart is killing this town quicker than what anything else was.Why hasnt a wal-greens or kmart or a steak-house or something already been here?wake-up people GAS IS RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!!
