Pretty scarey. What a bizarre accident; but then intoxicated drivers are dangerous.

That makes me sick! It is really bad when someone goes outside to mow their lawn, and they get ran over and killed in the process by a drunken idiot trying to drive. At this point in time, no one has an excuse to be stupid enough to drive while they are intoxicated. If the driver was really drunk, I hope that he receives the maximum sentence if he is convicted.

he has been charged with manslaughter, but, you know that the prosecutor can, and probably will change the charge to murder.
if his ba content comes back over the limit, i look for it.
people, im not judging that man, but, we have got to learn from this!!
DO NOT DRINK AND DRIVE, DO NOT TAKE PILLS AND DRIVE, DONT DO IT!!
So many people are prescribed medication, and does the doctor ever sit and say to the patient, dont take these if you are going to drive???
I mean, I know its up to the person to be responsible, but do most people really think they arent high when they take pain pills, just because a doctor prescribed them for you?
and not even just pain pills, but sometimes just allergy medicine or even blood pressure medicine can impair your judgement.
People really have to start being more responsible.

What's also horrendous is that these people taking mind-altering medications and driving is that quite often, they have their children in the vehicle with them. Nothing makes me as heartsick as seeing some idiot's picture on the front page who can barely open their eyes from the looks of their mug shot, yet there they were driving around in that shape with their children in the vehicle with them, and also endangering all the rest of us who have to share the highway with them. Pathetic, truly pathetic.

I think if they have been charged prior with DUI, whether pills or alcohol then take their license and don't give it back. These people do not care who they harm whether it be themselves, their children or others and this accident speaks for itself. Take that fools license and any others who get out there and do harm while intoxicated or blitzed out of their gourds on pills.

What does losing their license do? They know they are not supposed to drink and drive, yet they do it anyways. They know they are not supposed to drive without a license if they lose it. They already proved they break the law or they wouldn't have drove drunk. Lock them up, give mandatory sentence for even first time DUI, make then wear sandwich board, bring back the chain gangs, anything to get it to stop.
so sorry

wonder how long he had been driving with no insurance and driving on expired registration? half the people out here driving either have no drivers license, no insurance, dead tags, alcohol and or pills. it really is not safe to be on our highways at all. I've been told we would be surprised at how many truckers drive impaired.

It's abundantly clear to everyone that you did not pay attention in school. It is everyone's business when an innocent is killed by someone in a drunken haze, because apparently stupid runs rampant in your family. KSP is not going to arrest you on DUI charges if you are not under the influence. I'm sure he didn't set out to kill someone that day; but through his negligence and ignorance of breaking several laws; he did just that. Perhaps 20 + years behind bars will teach him not to drive under the influence!
shame on you

Shame on you for saying he was stupid, I hate that he had a blow out but there was no reason to say that the victim was stupid. It was a freak accident. Wrong place at the wrong time. You are no better than some of the others on here that are making comments about your relative.

get a clue honey!!!! any time someone chooses to drink or do pills and get behind the wheel of a car, it is all of our business, bet you wouldnt be running your flap about how innocent he is, if it was one of your children or husband, etc who he ran over and kiled!!! and the truth will come out with the blood alcohol content comes back, just stop defending someone, who could have waited 5 more minutes to drink and get high, i know where dd lives and i know how close he was to being home!!!
truth be known, he was on his way back home from stateline!!!

i agree with you on this, but, i feel this wont be the outcome, the prosecutor will have to change the charge to murder before he can get 20 years.
if he is convicted on 2nd degree manslaughter which is what i understand he has been charged with currently, the most he can get is 10 years and then serve 10 percent of that.
so most likely he will be out in 2 years.
but then again, circumstances might change and he might be charged with murder, but i doubt the prosecutor will waste time on it, its pretty cut and dry.
im betting he is out on bond soon.

How about you get a clue!
He was on his way to iga to get food for him an his dog like he always does after work!he had stopped by his house got the dog to take with him! The police even says he didn't have drinken anything bc they didn't smell anything on him! So I really with stupid people like you all would get facts straight before making a fool of your selfs yes he had prescribed meds that's needed! He doesn't drink anymore an I know that for a fact!
He did have a BLOWOUT BEFORE HITTING THE DITCH but some people just wanna make up rumors about people they don't even know that's ashame! I'm tired of getting on here an Facebook seeing nothing but lies because people have no life other then to talk about other people! I can't wait til they get the test back so people would shut up about it! He didn't drag that guy the guy landed on the hood clearly any smart person would know that if they seen the car but Owell I'm done with dumb people on here that don't know crap!
