I am thinking about applying to the nursing program at National College but I don't know anything about it. Is it a good program? Is it hard to get into? Is there anyone that is in the program now or was that can tell me about it? Please help!

My sister in law and 2 of my friends went there. All 3 graduated, but none of them are able to find jobs doing what they went for.

Any RN prgram is very hard regardless of where you attend. An employer cares about one thing. ARE YOU AN RN? The school really doesn't matter as long as you pass the test.

The School does matter if your applying for a Job Against someone else, which u usually will be. I graduated from morehead state and I've had great interviews at pike and uk. They seem to love our graduateds. I spoke in my interview and asked which programs do you know your getting a good nurse from. I got the reply of morehead and national college, so they must be doing something right to prepare the student for more than the nclex

I'm in the RN program at National. I love it. I have a lot of friends that are nurses at PMC and they got their degree from National.

I went to National as well. I would not recommend going there at all. I was in the Pharmacy Tech program, and I have put my resume in every where between Pikeville and Paintsville with no luck. I was told by some of the of various places. My first mistake was putting National as the place I had gotten my education and training. So now I am out thousands of dollars for nothing.

You people do know that you DO NOT have to go through a pharmacy tech. program, right? To be a pharmacy tech. a person ONLY has to pass the National Certification Exam--buy a book, learn the dosage calculations, and other generalized info, pay for and schedule the exam; the closest sites to Pike County are Johnson City, TN. and Lexington, KY.
But if you're doing Surgical tech. or Registered Nurse, you do have to attend an accredited school and they are all basically the same, and you should concentrate on Dosage Calculations (Math) because that seems to be the section, usually 3rd semester, that causes the most grief and failure. Brush up on your math before you begin and review often and you should do just fine.

I was accepted into Nationals nursing program. I would like to hear from other National Nursing students. What was your schedule for the first term? What books do you need? Are there any specific supplies I will need? What do you do at the orientation? How soon do you start clinicals? Any info will help.
