Why is he refusing to put the furniture back down stairs for everyone? Seems like he is punishing them.

Because some of the old folks and their relatives come down stairs and sit ALL DAY LONG. It's okay to come down and visit for an hour or so....I'm sure he feels like everyone else that has to walk through that lobby...you have a home to go to and you don't have to overstay your welcome in the lobby area. Besides, people abuse the lobby...they wear out the furniture, ruin the carpet, and make others feel uncomfortable. How many times has he asked people not to smoke in the doorway??? Yet, everytime I'm there, there's at least 4 or 5 "regulars" disobeying the rules. Way to go, SEAN!

They pay their rent... there for the lobby is part of their home. They need to get out and socialize. And as fas as wearing out the furniture and carpet...come on...that stuff is VERY old so considering the age it was in good condition. I just think Sean has a God complex and is punishing every tenant there. I find it a shame that he, and you that agree with him, think it's ok to intimidate elderly and disabled people.

Yes, they pay their rent for THEIR APARTMENT. Not for the lobby.

First of all, a lady made false accusations to the health department about the issues of bed bugs in the furniture. It appears that she is trying to file claim to get money for her so called damages. Mr. Gilbert was forced to take action and had to remove the furniture because of her accusations. The management team has been working diligently to make sure their residents and friends are provided with a clean, safe and affordable housing to those who are living at the apartment complex.

Since they pay rent the lobby is part of the amenities included with their rent just like use of the chapel and laundry facilities. The outside sitting area is also part of the amenities which most can't even use because there is no shelter. This would take care of the smoking problem. If you don't understand the word "amenities" look it up in the dictionary. If you have any books it's probably the one collecting dust.

This is partially true: a lady did make false accusations. However, since the accusations are false Mr. Gilbert DID NOT have to remove the furniture. He took this upon himself. Since then his office has received new furniture, with the tax payers money. Why is it ok for his office to receive new furniture, but not the lobby of Meyers Tower?

Mr. Gilbert did an excellent job by getting rid of the furniture. Because it was saturated with piss and the smell was horrible in the lobby. Also, I’m glad that I get to visit my grandmother without people looking at me and gossiping behind my back. If I can recall correctly, there is a conference room located on the second floor. If you want to go and sit around then go there. Maybe some of them hanging down there are trying find themselves a man? If so, then go to your local adult store and purchase yourself a device that will take care of your desires. My grandmother has never left her apartment in over a year because she is afraid someone will talk about her. Mr. Gilbert, if you are reading this, then I would like to stand up and applaud you and your management team for taking care of this situation. This needed to be done a long time ago!!

Who knew that an elderly living facility could be so filled with rancid gossip and horrible lies. They're way worse than high school children over there.

There happens to be very disabled people there that have no where to sit while they are waiting for the shuttle bus ran by the SVTS, taxis, friends or family members to pick them up. Some are using canes or walkers and can barely make it, then to have to stand, it's ridiculous. And I agree with the other poster, the lobby was part of the amenities when they signed their contract. But, as far as the staff there , they are awesome people. And I feel like they are doing a great job. The lobby has always been clean and decorated so pretty. Also, any time that you have that many people living in the same complex, there will be gossip, that is part of life.

Good for you for saying what you have here!! It is about time that something was done about the busy-body trouble makers, smokers, and just plain old CREEPS that LIVE on the furniture and lobby area. These people pay FOR AN APARTMENT....NOT THE COMMON AREA!!!!!!!!!!

My neices, sisters, and aunts can't walk through that lobby without being harrassed. I've been sick of the nasty people that WON'T GO HOME for many years. They also take advantage of the parking situation....parking in the front emergency areas, and they won't abide by the smoking law. They blow it in your face as you try to pass them by....

It's high time the old guys and gals go home to the area that they pay for.....I don't blame them for sitting around downstairs for an hour or so during the day, but coming down at 8:00 am and wearing out their welcome until 10-11 pm.....c'mon!!!!! GO HOME OLD FOLKSTERS!!!!!!!!!!

They are PAYING for their apartments...not the lobby. They don't come and sit for 20 minutes for the bus, they sit ALL DAY LONG....ALL OF THEM. Get over it, I hope he keeps the furniture out!!!

Because Meyers Towers loafers sit on the furniture and PISS, SHIT, and FART all over the furniture. THe furniture was bought NEW not long ago because the old was SOAKED IN SHIT AND PISS!!IT DIDN'T TAKE 2 MONTHS BEFORE THE NEW WAS IN JUST AS BAD OF SHAPE AS THE OLD. I hope he never allows it again. AND, I hope the police start cracking down on ILLEGAL PARKING IN THE LOADING AND FIRE ZONES!!!! JUST BECAUSE YOU'RE OLD DOESN'T MEAN YOU'RE STUPID.
