I used to work there a few years ago. What age is your child/children?

My grandson went there for a time. Something happened. He stopped going, but everytime that we go to Pikeville, he starts saying don't take me to daycare. I know for sure that he was punished for hitting a child, that hit him first. The other child was not punished. I am not saying that he should not have been punished, but the other child should have been punished as well. This same child pushed my grandson into the fence and nothing was done. Guess it is just like all of the other daycares, just who you know!

I can tell you that it didn't matter to me who the child's parent was. If I saw a child misbehave, they were put in to time out (since that was all we were allowed to do). Some workers were just afraid because the child's family was their boss, either directly or indirectly. Sorry to hear your grandson is still upset over going.

model city was a really good childcare, but personally, i like the ymca childcare by the pikeville city pool better. it seemed like they did more with the children and the children get to swim everyday during the summer (except for thursdays, thats trip day).

all you have to do is call the state childcare department. all complaints are open records meaning you can recieve those for the childcare centers around here. my personal experience with this daycare was horrible. my daughter was not fed or changed until i arrived. her bottle was continuously propped in her mouth while the workers were reading magazines. she never had a spoon of baby food while she was there but they told me they uad been feeding her for two weeks...horrible place....simply horrible!
just great

first of al i dot believe that they didnt fed your baby. It is a federal funded dayare same as a shool. They have certain guidelines they have to go by. And a schedule. My son has went there since he was a year old and loves it. I love the fact that i can just walk in no matter what time of day it is and get him or see him. They are great about that. They do have a curiculum they go by during the day then the afternoon is playtime. I have no complaints and if you think that was happening to your child then you should have complained and if it were true the person responsible would have been fired. They cant afford to lose their funding due to one persons lazyness.

that don't shock me-she always doggs those poor children-what is even more messed up about that is they made her a "teacher"-she does not know what she is doing-she hangs out with that headstart lady who stays stoned out of her head and never gets drug tested--god knows if she did she would not have a job there anymore--i honestly have quit my job to be a stay at home mother so i know that my child is taken care of properly

My child was in jasmine's room last year and he loved her. Jasmine has never been mean to a child as long as i have known her. Apparently someone has been misinformed.

I don't know what "haters" is talkin about, but i agree with every one else. Jasmine is a wonderful person and when i did hang with her (and sometimes it was at the daycare) she was more than good to those children.

As far as the person she hangs with in the headstart, that would be Jamie and I know for a FACT that Jamie would never do anything that would compromise her work or the way people look at her.

They are both really good people and DO NOT need to be dogg'd on like that

I work at Model City Daycare. I am a teacher. I really think our daycare is a good place for children, to answer the original question. I would recommend it to any one, for children of any age. The infants are - to the best of my knowledge- taken care of the way the should be. If anyone suspects (ed) a baby not being fed and changed properly they should tell their concerns ladies at the front desk. They will look into it and correct the problem.
Also, as far as for the care that Jasmine is providing goes, if she were mistreating the children - chances are she would be reported or caught by some parent or supervisor. Her supervisor has been there a long time and is very concerned with the children's well being. She doesn't tolerate abusive or neglectful behavior.
I believe we all know that the person complaining about Jasmine knows her and is having a personal feud with her. I dont think anyones personal life - as for who they date or don't, per say- should be held against them on the subject of their job.
As for anyone concerned about the the Pot head Headstart lady, I believe they are not talking about a teacher, but a friend of mine who works not with children, but in the Headstart office as a family services provider. I think that's title is either correct or close enough =]
Of course they hang out all the time, they are best friends. Loyal best friends.
Our daycare is regularly inspected by State and Stars inspectors =]

whoever wrote this comment doesn't seem to know what they are talking about. all teachers and assitants in headstart are christians they love the lord and they love the children and are good to their parents. Hard working staff.headstart also does drug test.

jamie is also an excellent family service worker, these people are monotered from the office at model city, and the paintsville office, bad talk when you don't know what your talking about can really damage someone model city day care /headstart have excellent staff that is well trained. and believe me if a child was ever mistreated they would be out of there. if you can't say something good about this place then stay away and don't say anything at all.
