Now a lot has to find other work, not just miners. The truck drivers to. They get paid by load. The orders they had at McCoy, was orders they had n advance. Truck drivers gets unemployment, nothing else. Hopefully next time everybody will not think so well of our president, can't believe he got n first time, but stupid second time.

The McCoy threads never last long. Management seems more concerned about their self image than about keeping men at work. I wonder how many of them are going without pay. I'm thankful to have received work in the mines elsewhere before the layoffs got bad. Please say a prayer for all the hard working underground men whose futures are in serious jeopardy. Hope this is the bottom and things will start getting better.

Don't worry, the school board will raise your property taxes and they will add a fire fee on them also. As the coal companies quit paying in taxes they will make up the difference on the property owners. I'm sure the county will help you out, lay more taxes on you to help you make you mind up about moving.

Only thing is now one will be able to sell out and move before long, now one will have the money to buy.

Bush certainly created this monster long before he ever left office. It is easy to blame someone else because the Tea Party doesn't accept responsibility for anything they do.

So sick of hearing about who done what and for the record Obama is making this country go to hell every day more and more.
We had more jobs when Bush ran the place, our president didn't seem to be buddies with the countries we are fighting.Bush didn't seem like he was hoping on the fan of trying to make it in Hollywood wagon.
Obama pans out and barrows from other countries more so then Bush and turns this country America into a third world country pretty much starves his country and feeds and defends the other countries war banging mongrels.
Face the facts though now its to the point even with him in or out this country is in a sham! Think about it what can more importantly the people of Eastern Kentucky do now?? That's where you will find the solution.

Yeah its true no one will have the money to buy or sale out and move out of here. People want a lot of money as it is for junk pile homes around here any ways. I have seen a few nice homes for good prices, but they out of the area anyone would be interested in and just because you have a lot of land to sale with your home now days means nothing, people around here though up the price a couple hundred thousand just for the land. Just look before the lay offs at all the people trying to sale or buy or rent around the surrounding areas and you would see about five to ten houses in one community for sale. Everyone looking to rent is mostly looking for the same amount to rent and same locations its already hard enough.

If you were to write a book on how to destroy the working and middle class all you would have to do is look at what this country has done over the last 30 years. NAFTA CAFTA and the outsourcing to communist China. They destroyed about every living wage middle class job and now have destroyed the industry of a whole region. When Johnson declared his war on poverty and started the social programs to lift the area out of poverty this area was highlighted and famous for it's poverty. Millions of dollars and years of work to lift the area into working and middle class status all for nothing. Thing is I don't think people will accept living like that again. The unrest in the middle east and most of the world now is over joblessness and poverty. Most legislation over the last 30 years has been for the top 1% and corporations, since they took over government through the lobby process. Thing is you create a dangerous situation when all you have is the rich and the poor.

its seems like the school system don't realize the hardships that families are having always fundraising, book fairs, sporting events were they charge 4-5 dollars admissions, charging kids 25-50 dollars to play sports, and to top it off ask each parent to bring stuff for the concession, where are our tax dollars and the Federal Title 1 money going, probably to pay someone salaryAll the above are pocket monies or kitty cash to pay under the table.Who is responsible for the daily operations of these schools..........
