How about a light-hearted thread that should not produce any conflict or arguing? Here's the premise: We suggest a topic and then give our opinions as to what the "best" _____ is pertaining to that topic. For example I'd say the best song ever is ______ then give my suggestion or you, yours..or you can offer us a new topic, whatever. I'll get us started...

The Best Dance scene ever in a film is..

Selma Hayek's role as Satanica Pandemonium in Dusk Till Dawn.

Any other suggestions/opinions?

The best ole movie flick was back in the 70's when John Holmes and Seka were going at it hot and heavy.
Amazing still to see her work that WHOLE ENTIRE THING ALL THE WAY. And possibly had room for more.

Anyone else remember SEKA taking the WHOLE trip?

That scene alone is so badass and erotic, all the symbolism of evil that's epitomized in her sultry, sensually over-sexual gyrations oh, sorry. But I digress..Selma is absolutely beautiful in that one.

That's definitely a Top 5'er along with the Travolta/Thurman dance scene in Pulp Fiction but I have another really great one: The Michael Madsen dance scene in Reservoir Dogs where's he torturing the tied-up cop, cuts his ear off, douses him in gasoline all while dancing around to Stealer's Wheel "Stuck In The Middle With You". Classic!

As for the Best Line from a movie? Wow! I really have to think over that one because I'm a huge film buff and there's millions of really good ones.

i agree, the moment you come up with one, and then another great one pops in your head. speaking of john travolta, dont forget "Michael"...the country line dance in the bar, and who can ever ever ever forget "Grease"...there are too many good dance scenes in that to count, but the best is probably the Sandy/Danny scene at the carnival. oh, wait, the hand jive scene at the school dance, see what I mean, haha.

Oh yeah, Travolta is definitely pivotal in many well known cinematic dance scenes for sure, many different ones like you pointed out here.
Its been a long time since I've watched it but I recall him doing a lot of dancing in "Urban Cowboy" too it seems.

Oh yeah, a couple other good "dance" scenes are one with a hot (IMO anyway) woman is Marisa Tomei's down and out stripper character in 2008's The Wrestler with Mickey Rourke. The other is an awesome, awesome film anyway with several killer, crazy dance scenes and that's David Lynch's incredibly awesome 1990 film "Wild At Heart". There's some wild dance scenes featuring Nicholas Cage and Laura Dern and
it's just an amazing movie altogether. As matter of fact, that gives me an
idea for my next The Best _________ suggestion:

The Best Film Director is (here's my top ones in no particular order)..

David Lynch
The Coen Bros.
David Fincher
Martin Scorcese
Alfred Hitchcock

see, i had totally forgotten urban cowboy, he isnt the best actor, but he is a great dancer/actor, i would like to see him get back to that, and make another great movie like that again...and not so much with the spy thrillers, etc....

It's been years since I've watched Urban Cowboy..for some reason I always got it and Robert Redford's "The Electric Horseman" confused with one another. I cannot
recall the last decent Travolta film I've seen..Swordfish maybe? And it wasn't all
that good to be honest, the best thing about it being the ultra hot Halle Berry.

P.S.- I got it...last year's "Savages". I'd forgotten all about it. Travolta was in it and did a good job with the role..it's a good film anyway.

I've read several times awhile back that they were going to make a movie centering on his Vincent Vega character from Pulp Fiction and it would take place before the incident where he got killed in Pulp Fiction of course. I always thought that would be a good movie if done right. I also liked Get Shorty and it's sequel Be Cool..Face Off was good too, so was Broken Arrow. Travolta has done some good films and most of them had him in non-dancing roles,
LOL!
