Wait until you see how much Severance Tax the City of Pikeville has requested this Year. It is unfair to the rest of the County, but the City Commission doesn't seem to care?
Sorry, but Pikeville is the county seat and most business in the county is done within the city limits. Whenever county citizens drive on city roads, walk on city streets, do business in city businesses, come to the post offices, flush a toilet inside city limits, go to a bank, see a lawyer, go to court they are using city resources - not to mention the police and fire protection inately given while inside city limits- which require money to The county needs to get over the fact that the city is the center of this county. It is the county seat and most of the counties revenues are generated in the city. Like it or not that is the way it is and the way it will stay. Besides the Fiscal Court doles out the severance tax money. And if I remember correctly, the city only has 1 magistrate representing it while the rest of the magistrate's represent areas in the county. If you don't like the amount the city gets, go boo-hoo to your magistrates. The city commision has nothing to do with it!!

You are over loaded with Frankie rhetoric. How about telling us why anyone would go into Pikeville during business hours. The city serves the likes of the 'lawyer' and personal friend, and co-conspirator of Little frankie, Senator Ray S. Jones. If you are not a lawyer in Frankie's town, you are a litigant. This bull shit is coming to a screaching halt. Frankie, Ray jones, Bill Hickman, and others in this water debacle have been exposed.

little Frankie was up to his fists in this airservice sham I feel.

I just wonder what created the window they so quickly jumped through to get this sham tabled and signed without the little billionaire here to witness his doings?

He was off hunting, but his king puppet let us know he was being updated hourly.

A sad day for the working people of Pike County. Thousands and quite possibly millions of your dollars went to providing a PROPELLER driven airplane to fly up to 19 of Pikevilles finest to Nashville Tennessee and only Nashville Tennessee. Great if you can afford the price and want to watch the Titans or Kentucky play Vanderbilt.

Shame on everyone that wasted public money on this Pie In the Sky deal. Donavons Prop Job Airlines.

somewhere along the line you have been told wrong. Do you remember Sen Ray S. Jones making a fool of himself by trying to blackmail the Fiscal Court? He said that since they didn't stand up for him when Magistrate Harris said "We have the best crooks in Kentucky", he could/would find it HARD do redo or change the amount of money awarded to each.

Magistrate Harris was pissed because our LEADERS IN FRANKFORT saw to it that the little town of Pikeville were surprisingly awarded a disproportionate amount of coal severance tax (coincidentally, that was not long after the suspected illegal actions between UMG and certain politicians were called to the publics attention by Magistrate Harris.) Ray Jones was particularly pissed at the court. He was doing legal work for the proven unethical company.

So, my friend, you're wrong...the Legislature doles out the money. Certain local officials obviously lobbied against the County and for the town. I'm sure they mistakenly thought it would cause the Fiscal Court to drop its law suit and formal request for UMG's records.

Corruption is rampant in Eastern Kentucky.

I don't know. After the legislature shoved HB496 up our..... UMG probably doesn't need a greasy lawyer now. Their dirty dealings are no longer considered any of the public's business. They can do as they want.

Yes, you did miss something. The very first article ANE printed about the Citizens for Eastern Ky Government stated that the group originally had received donations, at that time, from Jones and Hickman and UMG for the advertisements bashing Chris Harris. Later the paper discovered that Jerry's and some others from out of the area had later donated, too. The paper states that the mayor was asked by the members of the group to donate. Maybe Ray wasn't the "mastermind" but he jumped on the bandwagon pretty quick. It does seem that Jones and his family would stand to gain monetarily. Frankie's part doesn't seem as financially connected as does he just wanted revenge on Chris Harris for "not being a friend of the city". Translation- wouldn't do what Frankie told him to do.
This is really funny!!!
