Before you buy, shop around for quality and price!!!! Big Sandy has a gimmick sale each and every week. Remember Thacker Furniture a sale every week! Yea Right! Big Sandy furniture is overpriced and the quality of the furniture is a joke. The weekly gimmicks are to fool people into thinking they are getting a deal. Playing on peoples emotions. Big Sandy's extended warranties are the biggest joke a 300% markup! if you shop around you will save $300 to $1000 on furniture, appliances and electronics!

bought stuff from Big Sandy before and never had an issue. I think furniture is like any product it can break down - they sell name brands. And you can put stuff in layaway I believe.

Saw on tv where Maggards sells that Paula Deen stuff. Must be good quality, have no idea about pricing. I think they have a hard time competing with Big Sandy because they are so large. One of their employees said they had tried to put Maggards out but hadn't been able to. my wife has bought things there and I never ask her the price. She looks at Big Sandy but don't buy there. Since this is on here I'll ask her why.

I bought furniture and a TV. The furniture had to be replaced 3 times stll not right. The TV broke and still dosen't work. They have no clue. Looking for some tables at Damron Furniture they had the same table and chairs 250 less than the Superstore. I guess somebody has to pay for all the advertising.

Actually there are several companies that make furniture here in the US and many more throughout the world. There are hundreds in China and Asia. Don't take my word, Google it.

I went there and bought me a bedroom suit and I didn't have any credit. They went through Lendmark and got me approved. If you pay it off in 12 months its the same as cash. If they are still doing that. I am not sure but they always have some special.

If you want good furniture make sure it comes out of the carolinas. i wouldn't purchase anything from china. untelling what chemical is used in it. i wish there was a way not to buy any products from them and that is why Im not a walmart fan.

Watch Big Sandy and Maggards they both claIm to have free financing. But if you compare pricing you will see that they just add the extra charge on to what you are buying. The financing companies charge any where from ten to thirty precent to the store. Depending on how long you finance it for the longer you finance the more they charge you. Always shop and compare not just for price but service and warranty. Big Sandy even charges for delivery I think around 75 dollars. Plus if you do get approved they charge you for filling out the credit app these charges vary from 5 to 25 dollars.

I wish we had read topix before we went into Big Sandy. we will never shop there again. bought a living room set and a tv in. their customer service sucks. they lie and tell you they will call back, and never do. we bought this stuff in Nov. 2009, the $2400 Samsung tv quit working with the remote a week after we had it, so we have to turn it off and on with the button on the tv itself. They keep telling us that Samsung won't let us exchange the tv. WTH!? still getting our recliners replaced, and it's now February!

Well my dad bought a living room suite there once but he wanted a chaise which had to be ordered. After a month and a half of waiting he went down there and asked them why it was taking so long. They told him that the furniture he paid for had been discontinued and that they couldn't get it. My dad was like well then refund my money back to my credit card since he had paid for it on his credit card. They took FOREVER to give him his money back. At one point he offered to just take a different set in the store that was the same price as a swap but they wouldn't do it. After he finally got his money back he took his business to Grands Home Furnishings in Wise, VA and he loves the furniture he got there.

I bought a TV at Big Sandy several years ago. It is wonderful--no problems. Great purchase and they came to my house to set it up.
