I know there have been 1,000 Wal-Mart threads on here, but yesterday was an all-time low. If I had only needed groceries, I would have went to food city but needing oil, oil filters, and so many more non-food items, I ventured in. As I went to check out with a shitload of stuff there was TWO registers open (besides self checkout) that is right TWO in PIKEVILLE WAL-MART. As I pulled in the checkout a lady with an equally full cart pulled behind me and at that point the cashier said, "I am closing because I AM GOING ON BREAK!" The lady behind me said ok and the cashier shoves a shopping cart behind her! I was nice and said, "Mam, they need to get you all some help" and she replied smartly with, "We have self-checkouts right behind you!" I am sorry but if Wal-Mart thinks that I am checking out $150.00 at the self check-out they can kiss my ASS! I then said (nicely) They will have to get someone to run another register and she said (smartly) "That isn't my problem!" On my way out the door, I told a CSM that I wasn't going to spend my hard-earned money and be talked to like that by some "bitch"...which I would never say, but the point needs to be made. I know that I shouldn't even grace the doors but if they would be like PAINTSVILLE Wal-Mart and actually have people at working, it would be a great place to go. They give the excuse no one can pass a drug test and that doesn't pass the bullshit test!

If I'm not mistaken, Wal-Mart workers must have an I.Q. between 0-40.

Most of them are closer to zero than the required 40, lol.

When a cashier logs onto a register, there is an automatic timer that begins a countdown for that person's break or lunch. The register will shut off at that time and we cannot do anything else. This is due to many lawsuits claiming employees were not allowed their breaks. I agree there should be more cashiers but many people cannot pass the drug test before they are hired or are fired because of failed drug tests while employed. The biggest problem with the Pikeville Walmart is the manager. He has had many complaints from employees and customers but corporate still keeps him.

Ok Darlin, I think that YOU need to re-read my post. I was not RUDE at all to her, even with her attitude, I didn't say anything. I said it going out the door. In fact, I tried to be nice to her. She was the one that acted like she had cinnamon ass, not me! She didn't have a cart there or anyone standing in the line saying it was closing. And I promise you, I CAN USE a self-checkout, but I WON'T USE IT ON an entire shopping cart full of stuff. I really hope you don't work at Wal-Mart.

I have worked with the public for many years. I've worked in convenience stores, restaurants, business offices, etc. and I have never sassed anyone or spoken rudely to anyone no matter how difficult or obnoxious they may have been. When you choose to work with the public, you already know you're going to encounter those types of people from time to time. Any of us can handle whatever comes with dealing with customers without getting all bent out of shape. If not, we don't need to be there. So, as for you having to keep from choking the living shit out of customers, be glad you can keep your cool enough to do so. You could find yourself needing dental implants or a new head of hair! I've seen a lot of Walmart customers I wouldn't want to tangle with!

I love the new self checkout lines. No problem checking and bagging my entire order in a few minutes; rather than having to wait in a long line. Thanks WalMart for providing them for customers wanting to use them.

I did not say I was going to do anything to anybody. I said that a lot of Walmart customers looked mighty tough, so you might get more than you bargained for if you ever decide to "choke the living shit" out of a customer. You just might pick on someone a little tougher than yourself, Mr. or Ms. Judo expert. lmao

I worked at Walmart almost 5 years and never did I hear about anyone being drug tested after the very first drug test to get the job. And I know plenty who should have so I don't buy that garbage! And when did this so called timer thing start? I find that very hard to believe even when I worked there they would act like our registers would shut off but that's total BS Walmart employees want the public to think that..pikeville Walmart is by far the worse around here its no wonder with trash like above they keep hiring..

Is that the bs excuse that walmart gives??? what is wrong with walmart employees? why cant you all see what fools you are being made of???
walmart only does that so that they can take you off the clock, because i know they dont pay for breaks!!
if all the walmart employees would all go on break at the same time and not just one store but all of them, as in, strike out and walk out the door leaving registers unattended, etc and just said screw you sam walton offspring, who are some of the richest mother humpers in the world
i think even one of the sons ex wives is considered one of the top 10 richest women in america
come on people

Well with the shortage of cashiers at Walmart it does put a lot of pressure on them there are some rude ones but their everywhere, I'm sure they do deal with some hateful ppl especially at the first of the month, I just wish our Walmart looked like the other ones there's not much of selection of anything, I would rather go to paintsville or wise, but Walmart in pikeville does have some great employees that lil old lady that works in housewares she should be a set example to them all she has a hard time getting around but that doesn't stop her from working hard she's always friendly and will go out of her way help you ,

Reading your posts reminds me of why i hate the public! You have my respect! There is just some customers at my job that i'd love to tear into but cant so i have to bite my tongue :/

People who are too fucking lazy to self checkout are pathetic, i do it all the time with a cart full. I can understand if you have stuff that needs to be got at 18, electronics, tobacco, etc. But the rest of you guys that bitch because there is only 2 lanes open that a mile long, but refuse to go to a self checkouts remind me why the entitled bunch of ya can kiss my ass. Sorry you had to bag your stuff! NOT!

One problem genius, the pikeville walmart has 20+ registers and yet most of the time 2 or 3 are open. You cant take jobs away from people when they arent there to begin with!
