My child was recently sick, probably the flu, and hospitalized due to his high fever. I took him to the ER and there were, of course, many sick people. They were coughing, not covering their mouth, etc. There were masks available, but not one sick person took a mask, so I did. People, please cover your mouths when your not well, use a kleenx and hand sanitizer.

You don't have to be around kids while you are sick to spread the flu to them. Simply touching a door knob and having a kid touch the same door knob minutes later and then touch their nose is all that has to happen for them to get the flu. That is why you are supposed to STAY HOME.
Ask any health care professional and they will tell you to STAY HOME when you are sick with the flu.
I thought everyone knew you were supposed to STAY HOME when you have the flu. I guess I should have known better.
You are a real piece of work. You get on this forum. A forum that should have been read by a hand full of people and then forgotten about. But you just can't let it go. And then turn it into a debate over if people should stay home when they are sick. You read this post and immediately jump to criticize me for actually going to work and not staying home. And then jump to judge me without even knowing me about how I raise my kids. You read this post and act like you can't wait to find something wrong with it that you can criticize someone for. As far as I'm concerned it's people like you that is wrong with this site. Because you just have to find something wrong with everything that someone post. As far as I'm concerned you are just as bad as any troll on this site. Your comments and your criticism just annoy people.
What right do you have to talk? I'm sure that when you were younger you went to school, work or even in public sick, knowing you should stay home. Do you really expect me or anyone to believe that all your life. You stay home every single time you get sick and never leave the house. I'm pretty sure that there has been many times you have been out in public, maybe even around your own family, knowing that you shouldn't be out in public because you are ill. I'm sure when you were young your parents sent you to school knowing you were sick and said oh they will be ok. Yet you sit there and judge me for actually going to work and not staying home.
Let me say this again. Some people cannot afford to take off work. If you have money in a savings account and can afford to take off work for weeks at a time. Good for you!! Some people don't have that convenience. Some people have to go to work because they can't afford to miss not even one day of pay. Understand? You made the comment about how people shouldn't go out sick because of people with weak immune systems, the elderly or even babies may get sick. Everyone knows there is a virus going around. If you have a weak immune system, why are you out anyway? If you are elderly and you know there is a virus going around, why are you out anyway?
I guess when my little girl needs some milk or my oldest girl needs medicine. I guess I'm suppose to say sorry sport. Daddy's sick and can't leave the house. I guess you're just gonna have to tough it out kid.

Don't worry, if that's the same Elkhorn City, she cheats on her husband with that married guy anyway. She has no room to judge anyone. Most men are so whinny when they get sick, and they make every excuse to stay home. I admire you for still wanting to get things done. That person must have missed the part where you stated that you were careful about what you touched. So far, I haven't had time to go get a flu shot, and I've been so lucky not to have gotten it yet. I've been best friends with the hand sanitizer, and I've been careful who I get around, so hopefully I'm good.

Your ignorant ass isn't worth my time so this is my last post on this matter because it's apparent you don't have enough sense to understand the point I'm trying to make here.

No I have never ever went beyond my house when I have had the flu or any contagious illness where I was running a fever. I have went out with a cold (with no fever) but never the flu.

I have more sense and compassion for others than to go out and make innocent people sick with my flu germs when I sneezed, coughed or touched other things people might touch, etc. You are telling me you wash your hands every time you get ready to touch something? Yeah, I don't believe a word of it!

Yes, in cases where I didn't have any sick or vacation days left, I have lost money staying home from work sick with the flu and I was a single working woman for a long time with all the responsibility for paying my own bills on my own shoulders.

No my mother never sent me to school with the flu or any illness where I was running a fever. She had more sense and compassion for others than to send me around other sick kids when I was sick with the flu.

I won't be back to read any of your ignorant comments but go ahead a type away!

Have a great day!

So funny how you think that you can get the last word in simply by saying, "I won't be back to read it," like some kind of 2 year old. Hahaha. Your mom must have sent you to school sick because she didn't teach you how to respect the boundaries of a marriage either. Looks like someone can't stand the heat when someone disagrees.

Well, thank you for at least understanding. I had no idea she cheated though. It's amazing what you learn on topix. I guess that explains why she is such a cranky mood. lol Hope you don't get sick.

Hmm. To call someone ignorant, just because they have a different opinion then you, is the true example of complete ignorance.
Further more I guess you think you did something by calling someone ignorant. I guess. You know the definition of ignorant is simply to not know something. Fact is we are all ignorant of something. Everyone.
And I understand exactly the point you were trying to make. It's not that hard to figure out. But you seem to not understand my point. Some people CANNOT STAY HOME when they are sick!! Do you not comprehend that?
And if you went out with a cold. Did you know that colds are in fact contagious? The common cold, can be caused by any of more than 200 viruses. Colds are often spread through touch. If you shake, contact, or hold the hand of an infected person (who may not have apparent symptoms), and then touch your eyes or nose, you are likely to infect yourself with the virus. In addition, you can "catch" a cold if you touch your eyes or nose after touching a hard, nonporous surface, such as a telephone or doorknob, shortly after an infected person touched it.
Viruses can also be transmitted in the small airborne particles produced by a cough or a sneeze. Studies show that, if you contract a cold, you can transmit it to others one or two days before your symptoms appear, and up to four or five days after first being exposed to the virus. Colds are most contagious two to four days after original exposure (whether or not symptoms have developed), when there is plenty of the virus present in nasal secretions.
So apparently, you are not as careful as you think and you really need to educate your self before you judge and criticize someone else ok. What part of I will do what ever it takes to take care of and support my family do you not understand?
