My family just moved to the area from Ohio and we are looking for a good doctor in Pikeville. We prefer someone in Family Medicine so our kids can go to the same office as my husband & I. Any recommendations? I have only been given 2 names by some neighbors... Dr. Cook @ the family practice clinic @ the hospital and Dr. Smith @ the Grace Call building. Any info on these 2 would help as well. Thanks!

Maleshia and Brett Dunning that is at the PMC Family Clinic at Harold is good. They even help me find scripts for heart problems that is on Wal-Mart $4 plan. Whether it be the Dunnings or where ever if have no insurance you tell them you are cash pay you always get a huge discount. Good luck. For the record, I am happy with my doctors.

Athens, Ohio is where we just moved from. I am originally from VA though. That is so sad that the doctors are like that. Have you heard of the 2 doctors I mentioned earlier? Dr. Cook or Dr. Smith? Maybe u might try either of them...

Thank you. I will add them to my list to consider. I'd really like to find someone here in town if I can, but Harold doesn't seem to be too far to drive.

The doctors at the family practice clinic are really good. I've been going there for 6 years.

Dr. Mark Reed is the best doc I have ever been too.He is from Reed family medical clinic. It is located on Town Mountain road in Pikeville. He has turned my husbands health issues around a complete 180'. I give him my highest reccomendation. One of the most thoroughest doc I have ever been too. My daughter sees him now. She has a very severe thyroid condition that is rare. She's been fighting with it since November. Her doc in Johnson county kept treating her for allergies(not the thyroid conditon) and she was not getting any better. I suggested she see doc Reed. Within 1 visit and a couple of tests he sent her for, he told us exactly what was wrong (he's the one who found the thyroid problem) and she now has an appt with a specialist in Lexington.

Doctors around here don't care about helping you. They just want to perscribe you a pill of somekind so the pharmaceutical companies will line they're pockets even more.

Doctors don't get any money from pharmaceutical companies. The only thing they get is the free medication samples that they can give to their patients.
