n1nos i do have a good job and so does my husband and before i go on unemployment or use state assistance i will sale all my extra stuff i have and use my savings because unlike you who has probably never had a job i have money put back... So keep drawing all the state assistance and you will continue to be treated the way you are i think the entire state assistance should be gone then everybody who thinks they can sit home be fried, not work, and keep having babies will have to figure out the best way they know how to support their habit, pay bills, and feed their kids without expecting mine and everybody else tax money to do it for them

Like I said you don't know me, and your one of these people that automatically assume that I have lots of kids, have a pill habit, and I don't work since I need help. I'm glad for you IF you apparently have this great job and are making the big bucks but unlike some of us we get a job that will do until we either get out of school or get out of a rut. So like I said I pay in my tax money just like you and have been for many years so I don't have to feel bad because I need assistance. Maybe one day when you have sold all your "stuff" when something comes up and you will still need help be glad you will still have the "state assistance" to help you out but then again with your attitude you will be too proud to take it.

Well I hate to be the one to break the news to you but everyone is not as fortunate as you. What do you do when you have sold everything you have to sell and use all the money you have put back? Money doesn't last forever they will come a day when its all gone and you still can't find a job that pays enough to raise a family. Not everyone sits home fried popping out children. I know your smart enough to know that's not always the case. A lot of broken families were at one time as happy and well off as yours. Life deals us all a different hand and its up to us to make the best out of it and do what we have to do to put a roof over our kids head and food in their bellies. Finding yourself not able to do this will humble one to the point of asking for help.My husband has worked all his life in the coal industry and right now jobs are hard to find. What would you suggest he do go back to school and learn a new trade at nearly 50? I would just about bet if I were a betting person that if one day you found yourself in some of these peoples shoes you would be singing a different tune.

My husband is a foreman in the mines and they hire 3 or 4 a week so jobs are out there but its easy to sit at home and draw unemployment and state assistance than to look for a job so if pity is what you all on assistance want from me SORRY NOT GONNA HAPPEN

My parents were elderly and someone told me if they qualified for Medicaid, they could have a person to stay with them. I went over to the "state aid"' office and talked to them. Never been so humiliated in my life. They didn't qualify for any "state aid". I am college educated and they tried to talk to me like a "dog". I can't imagine how uneducated people are treated. I told one woman I was glad my parent or I were not at their mercy. So sorry for the people who are at the mercy. May God have mercy on the workers who depend on others for their pay, but feel they are superior.

What is up with these rude social/govt. workers? Why do these people take jobs working with the public if they don't want to be bothered with them? Would it kill these people to treat others with a little kindness and respect? Even if they have to turn someone down for assistance, they don't have to be so mean and nasty about it.

Pfft I'd like to know which company you're husband works for then my husband has tried for 8 months to find a job he drives to different places and when we can't afford to buy all the gas ya know since he sits on his butt an draws 1200 in unemployment each month which is nothing for a family of 5 he makes a ton of phone calls because let me tell you we do NOT want to sit and struggle every month to pay our bills and feed our children so I know if this so called mines was hiring 3 to 4 people a week he would have found it by now unless its in Virginia or west Virginia. And I bet you are living the life of luxury so that savings wouldn't carry you far once those paydays stopped rolling in haha so climb off that high horse you're on honey you live in eastern KY like the rest of us and believe me it can happen to your man anyday if Obama has his say. Theres definitely not many mining jobs available in Pike county right now and I know this first hand.

I don't ask for pity from no one, but I do respect to be talked to the same way as everyone else if that is on "state assistance" or not. I loved how you automatically told us that your husband is a mines foreman. I thought you was going to say that he had some dealing with the mines. Well if he's a mines foreman than what kind of job do you have? You obviously know that he could loose his job any day and you will have to pick up the slack by working your butt off at a minimum wage job or 2 and try and live like "The Joneses" which sounds like you are already trying to do. You don't know what people go through to be on assistance, in your mind they are all up to no good living off the state. I feel sorry for you.

Your parents were indeed fortunate to have family support. I don't know of any state that pays for in home care. It's off to the nursing homes for the elderly if they are unable to remain in their home. If you were unhappy with the case worker that you spoke with than you should have informed the agency. Those jobs are very stressful and most workers have overwhelming case loads, but the ability to speak to people shouldn't effect their demeanor in dealing with all of the people that come to their office. The states don't have the funds to pay for in home care. The cost of nursing home care takes up the largest portion of the dollars allocated for public assistance.

My husband has to meet with someone in the unemployment office almost every month. He has applied for every mining job in eastern KY and he's not been called for an interview in almost 9 months. So there is definitely no mines that's hiring 4 people a week. You don't know what the hell you're talking about. I would love to know the name of this mystery mines haha

I never once said he worked in the mines I said he works in the coal industry. He is a truck if your perfect smartass must know. And yoi are full of shit when u say a job is that easy to find in the coal mines. My father in law is a boss at a mines so I know better. If that were true they would be jobs for all the laid off people. The coal industry is the reason many are losing everything they have. Keep talking bc your husband might be the next. I would much rather be around someone who knows they need help and not to high and mighty to ask for it. God can take everything you have away in a blink of an eye. You know what I'm done with you and will not waste one more minute on you. I can't stand people like you who think they are above anyone else. We all put our pants on one leg at a time. You are no better than the next. Take a minute a google the number of jobs have been lost in the coal industry in the last couple of years. No need to reply bc your not worth my time. I'm not your husband and I don't have to put up with your ass poor him I say.

He is a truck? His job must require driving then.
Lol! Sorry. I'm just playing. I wish you well.
P.S. I love my food stamps. They're really helping me out while I'm trying to find another job after getting laid off from my last one. Life is bittersweet these days but it's getting better, slowly but surely.

I agree with you! Full of it is what that women is you better pull your pant legs up because the sh!t is getting deep. Hate to say this but I hope she does wake up one day and find herself in the shoes of many other people. Sounds to me like she is or thinks she is so high and mighty above anyone else. I really hope things start to look up for you and your family. I thought the reason unemployment was paid into was if you lose your job you will have a backup. If people didn't work and have the right quaters paid into they wouldn't be eligble to draw unemployment. Unemployment is not just a handout like the women acts.

Why can't she tell the name of the mines maybe because she is full of sh!t. I know many people who are in the coal industry and have registered with the unemployment office for jobs still only to be on unemployment. I've got a list of jobs from the unemployment office and will check tomorrow and see what mines are on there that's hiring. I'm already laying in the bed or would do it tonight. I heard that the mines that have opened since all the layoffs had multiply applications for each position. It comes down to the one lucky enough to get the job. Everyone is not lucky enough to be born with a silver spoon in their mouths. Working for family is awhole different than working for someone else. Just bc you work for family doesn't mean one can't go under.

At this point it can't get much worse better is the only option. But I look at it this way we have our health kids are happy and healthy and in the end that's all that matters bc we can't take the things we have with us when we leave this world. Best of luck to you as well!
