blue raven is new and very different for this area....bank 253 is upscale bar food, mgr is from malone's in lex....pig in a poke is nice bbq, good beer selection, and has some good sides.....depends on what you want to spend, and individual tastes, but either of the 3 are very good choices for a small rural town.

The Blue Raven is at the end of Main Street in downtown Pikeville. Bank 253 is on Second Street in downtown Pikeville. Bank 253 has food; but is more of a bar. The Blue Raven is a restaurant that also has a bar on the side.

There is also a good Chinese restaurant and Hibachi grill where they cook the food in front of you.

No, if you want good food in downtown there's a good Italian place on the corner of Main St. in McCoy house. I've enjoyed eating there since I was younger. The other 2 places are overpriced bars that serve bar food. The Peking in Coal Run is good as well. They now have Hibachi there too. Kind of expensive, but something different for this area. If you like Mexican there's El Lazuli.

The Blue Raven is definitely not bar food. The Italian restaurant is not fresh Italian food if that is what you want.

We made reservations @ Blue Raven it was not a good experience. We waited forever for our food and half of it was too spicy for a couple people in my family to eat. Wasn't really good food in my opinion...and oh my god it was hella expensive for everything. You have to order everything seperately and it costs a fortune! Definitely not good either. We are definitely not poor either, but even for my taste it was over priced bar food!!

I guess we all have different experiences. I was there the other night and didn't have to wait for a table. There were ladies there wearing jeans and nice tops. The meal was a little over twenty dollars each.
