You're right. It takes a loose cannon to shoot a poor little puppy just for doing what puppies do. She must be as hateful as sin.

Yes I know, she's a nut. And you know the sad thing is...she would only care about the jail time...not that she hurt that little puppy.

Are you saying she shot a neighbors dog in her yard? If so whats wrong with that?
Be it a pup or full grown dog, the owner should have kept it in their own yard. The dogs owners should have installed a fence before putting the dog outside.

Hey, you can be civil with a person and ask for the dog to be fenced in. You don't need to be slinging a gun around with no warning at all and shoot the pup for no good reason at all. How was the dog to know?? It was so innocent.:( You have no heart and probably just as nutty if you kill harmless creatures just because they wondered over. Furthermore, her grand kids always played with the pup times before, so the pup thought that this was a safe place.

I disagree, it is their pup they should have asked if she minded their pup in her yard.

Why do pet owners assume everyone else will adore the animal as much as they do?

I'm not nutty, and i do have a heart, but will not tolerate someone else s "PET" crapping all over my yard while tearing up my property. Please don't say call animal control, they are almost as good as the law enforcement in pike county.

Although I would never pick up a gun to solve any problem, I agree with NDDD and Harry. After all, Pike county has a leash law.

I have to agree. She must have problems. Couldn't she think of a sensible solution to the situation?

well shooting it was a bit extreme..especially if there were small children around where the firearm was discharged. but let me ask you this? was this issue with the dog an ongoing problem? had it reached a point were she was fed up? lots of variables here. I guess in a perfect world if we all acted responsible there would never be any issues.

i was wondering if the woman had issues with the owner of the dog, it seems maybe this was some kind of way of getting back at someone.
or maybe she just really was in a bad mood or really dislikes puppies.
what kind of person dislikes puppies?

This wasn't an ongoing problem. Like I said, the babies played with the puppy all the time. It never bothered anyone. And she has dogs of her own, so it's not like she stepped in dog poo and was like...I'll kill that dog...cause hers pooped too. And as for the neighbor..they've been neighbors for as long as I can remember...she's had issues with the neighbors sons, but they've been moved out for years. And yes, at least one of the kids saw it.
Only explanation...she's crazy....crazy does things with no warning...to the extreme.

This is just awful! Thats all I can say. Yes, I have to agree with you, your aunt is most certainly CRAZY with a capital C. I really hope from the bottom of my heart that she does get 5 in prison and I also hope she is made to serve every single day on it. It is probably in the best interest of those children to remove them, as quickly as possible, from her home/presence. One other thing she really sounds like she has schizophrenia w/ a side of bi-polar.

If anybody shot my dog I'd kill their ass deader than a God damn hammer! wouldn't give a damn if they had a gun on me or not, they'd have to just shoot me. Maybe I would have to wait to exact my revenge so that I could grieve over my dog and get over the trauma of the deal, but once I had my dog buried I'd be hiding in wait to bash someone's fu**ing brains out!

EXACTLY what I would do...no law or anything else could stop me....animals don't recognize fences or property lines. Any s.o.b. mean enough to kill my dog without calling me to come get it deserves to be shot and I wouldn't think twice about it.

TRUE a dog doesn't equate to a human being:dogs don't shoot humans for wandering into their yard. If you think it's acceptable behavior to shoot a puppy for trespassing then I suggest YOU are the one who needs counseling.

Now you have me in a quandary, With your mental capacity how have you lived long enough to be an "old dude"?

If people want a pet they should make the necessary arrangements before they bring it home. I don't want to be bothered with other peoples pets, so i have made the necessary arrangements, fence, posted signs and purple paint on trees and posts every 90 foot, and a ready and able 870.

Now as harsh as people may think i am, i would never make the statement you made. Would you really shoot someone for shooting your dog on their own property? And people judged my posts as nuts.
