They pretty well make their own rules up as go,they go (why)? because they wear the badge and the gun,as for David Walkins he pretty much wrote his own law book, I have heard alot of people saying bad things about him,

Johnny Mitchell Slone is a jerk and he will lie and make up charges against you if he wants to arrest you. He doesn't even read you your rights.

While I agree that there are some bad KSP officers out there I happen to know several KSP officers that work over in A sector of Pike County and you couldn't ask for a better police force. As for the state police being agressive against people they more than likely deserve it. IF you weren't breaking the law there is a good chance that you wouldn't have been incarcerated anyway. Leave the State Police alone and let them do their job and if you kept your nose clean you wouldn't have to worry about being arrested.

No matter what a person does, they still have constitutaional rights. When they are violated, then the violater is also guilty of breaking the law.

I agree with Troopers Friend on the most part. I think state police have a very difficult job and most are very honest. I'm not saying David Watkins isn't honest, but he is a jerk. I was pulled over by him (and I was guilty of speeding), but he was an ass. I didn't argue, I admitted I was wrong for speeding, I was had no problem for getting a ticket for doing something that I shouldn't be doing, but he treated me like I had just committed murder. There is no excuse for this. That's what gives our good troopers a bad name. If we could get rid of the few power mad troopers, the ones that do a good job could do it without resentment from those of us who have been mistreated by the few that are jerks. I have the utmost respect for most troopers, but I have no respect for someone that treats a normally law abiding citizen with such contempt. I have nothing on my record (well except now the speeding ticket) and I don't feel I should have been treated so badly for going 10 miles over the speed limit.

I remember as a kid, looking up to them as heroes.

Now, my kids act like they are scared of them.
It's no wonder though, they see them all the time on TV looking all intimidating and making their threats.
Saying, in a mean voice "You WILL get caught, and you WILL go to jail"!

Kids need a healthy dose of fear now. Maybe it'll make them think twice before drinking and driving or getting in to mischief.

Exactly. And hey, if they want to smack around some drunk jackass, I say go for it. Some idiot out there endangering my life and the life of my family and friends..They deserve to be talked to like a dog AND have some sense smacked in to them.

If you don't care about YOUR life, stay home and drink yourself to death or shove another pill up your nose, but do NOT endanger those I care about.

I don't want my kids growing up being afraid of the Police. I want them to know they can trust them if they need them.

Yeah, me too.
I always tell my kids that the Police are our friends, but when they see that big mean looking man making threats on TV, I guess they get the wrong impression.

Kids shouldn't be afraid of officers, they should be taught to respect them. Most of them deserve respect. There are a few out there that are making it hard for those that do deserve our respect. What if your kid were in trouble, but afraid to ask an officer for help due to teaching them officers should be feared? I teach my kids that officers are here to help us and they should give them respect.

I hate it when people do that. I always tell the child I wouldn't bother them for the world, then politely tell the parent/parents not to use me to scare their children. I tell them, Heaven forbid, if they should need my or another officer's help one day, they might be afraid to approach us because they think I/we will take them to jail.

I am sure if your rights were violated the case would have been dismissed. Let me guess you went to jail and it is the state police fault. If you rights are violated hire an attorney. There are plenty of attorneys who would represent you if you rights were violated. By the way what have you done for your rights? I bet you are a convicted felon and can not even vote.

I said a healthy dose of fear. Not shaking in your boots fear. And its not so much fear of the police, but fear of the consequences of your actions, and knowing that they will enforce the law. So behave! lol Guess I should have been a little more clear as to what I was going on about.
