A federal grand jury says a Johnson County doctor conspired to illegally distribute drugs.

Richard W. Albert operated a pain clinic in Paintsville until his office was raided by federal officials.

Albert was indicted Friday on one count of conspiracy to distribute drugs without a legitimate medical purpose.

Albert will be arraigned next week in Pikeville.

He faces up to 20-years in prison if convicted.

This same doctor also used to work at the Pikeville Treatment Center.

That should read the Pikeville Pain Management Clinic that is at the Uniplex. The people who owned the pain clinic also owned the Pikeville Treatment Center.
