They do a great deal of advertising and act like they are do gooders, but they can't afford to buy an advertisement for a school yearbook.

When my contract is up. They can kiss it goodbye. They are robbing the people of this area.

i have them thru my company. i live in pikeville and with verizon thats considered "roam" you do get 10 free people as long as they have verizon in a calling circle. but the overall plan is expensive. at&t is probably the best i have seen.

I switched from AT&T to Verizon. I love it. Even though Pikeville is "roaming" with Verizon, you're not charged with roaming on their Nation plans.

Also, Verizon has the same service as Appalachian Wireless because Verizon is actually using their towers in this area.

Appalachian Wireless roams through Verizon. And Verizon phones work off of the App Wireless towers. You can get Verizon phones here, but you have like a 1-859-xxx-xxxx phone #. . . It's difficult enough remembering a 794 or 213 number, let alone 3 more digits, haha.

i have app wireless, i like the fact that i get really good signal, the only thing i don't like is that the phones are locked, it's not like at&t where you can just take your card out and put it in another phone..

App Wireless has great service. Been with them for a long time, when bag phones came out. They have their quirks like any company tho. Biggest one being phone selection. I dont text or need internet on a phone and I may bein the minority now. Went in for the Hero special for hillbilly days and the catch was 30 bucks extra a month for data service. My other choices, if my old phone goes out, are phones that are all outdated and cheaply made. I guess the I just need a phone crowd are out of luck with them now.

I didn't know any hotties worked there, I didn't see any hotties at the boothe. If you have At&t and want super service buy a booster you can google them or try ebay and search wilson wireless mobile amplifier kit they are expensive but you have signal anywhere and I mean anywhere. I have almost full bars every where I go. SAVE tons of money by doing this instead of going to Appalachian Wireless and getting ripped off.

I'm not sure how anyone can say that Appalachian's coverage sucks compared to AT&T when App has over twice as many towers in this area than AT&T does...also, people complain about App's data service, yet they're the only ones that have 3G coverage anywhere between Lexington and Huntington.

App and Verizon both use CDMA digital service whereas AT&T use GSM. App and Verizon have agreements to roam off each other's networks for voice and 2G data. CDMA phones can't use SIM cards, whereas GSM ones do. That's just the nature of the technology.

For those that think App is too expensive, please note that they've just rolled out a nationwide unlimited talk plan for 64.99...that's 5.00 cheaper than any of the other big networks.

And the 30.00 data plan on the expensive phones, well, you're going to have that with any carrier, Verizon and AT&T included. That just goes along with getting a 600 dollar phone for a penny...but really, who even wants a smart phone without data service? That just doesn't even make sense.

Why do you think people are complaining? Sorry, nothing is free...LOL. You are wearing that hat and advertising for them. Did you ever think about that? They should be paying you to wear it.
